DO YOU HAVE THAT FAMOUS OHIO CLAY??? if so.. advise.. as you plant differently than in real soil ... and it might be to your advantage to remove a lot of the potting media ... more facts if you want us to be more specific ... do NOT try to winter them over in the pots ... in my experience anyway ... do you know how to deal with circling roots??? link below to the database .. i hope ... all yours should be in the dB ... size potential is dictated by the annual growth rate ... Comments (23)Well, I was good (sort of). Dh and I visited a local upscale garden place I've been meaning to check out (it was near a job site), and amazingly enough, they had some seeds out. So, I picked up a packet of spinach seeds, and planted some last night. It was labelled for 2009, and was pretty big, so I should be set for next year, too. So, I managed to resist ordering a bunch of stuff from Pinetree. Otoh, I marked up my Pinetree catalog with lots of ideas for next year - mostly veggies, but a few annuals, too. I was excited to see they have the varieties of asparagus & strawberry that I want to plant, so they will probably be getting a big order from me, assuming they don't discontinue them. Comments (25)Hi Livvy and Bella, I love H. ÂEndless Summer too as a matter of fact I had some hardscape work done last fall which entailed the landscaper removing a hedge of thirteen. They were out of the ground for a few weeks and the landscaper insisted on cutting them all back by one third which of course included this yearÂs blooms on last yearÂs wood. I will be interesting to see just how many blooms I get this year. I have bought Hydrangeas from Hydrangeas Plus http://hydrangeasplus.com/home.php a number of years ago the stock was large and healthy but the shipping even then was outrageous. I just ordered for the first time from Wilkerson Mill Gardens a very well known southern Hydrangea nursery http://hydrangea.com/ I will report when I receive the order. Although I have never order Hydrangea Hydrangea http://www.hydrangeashydrangeas.com/index.html I do know folks who have been happy with their order and the shipping from Nantucket canÂt be that bad. Comments (47)When I was working in an office, the company provided plastic cutlery and paper plates, plus there was pizza day the first Friday of every month, and there were tons of pizzas for everyone to have for lunch that the owner provided. Those were the only days I ate in the company lunchroom. I lived 1.3 miles from work, and my commute was four minutes, which meant that I could go home for lunch. I used to take excess food to work to give away, but it was generally something I grew and had too much of, such as figs, when they were in season. One woman from Israel particularly liked my figs, and so I invited her to come to my house one week-end and pick some for herself. She brought her husband, and they picked quite a few figs. I was getting about 40 figs a day and needed to get rid of them. She made some fig jam with some of the figs and gave me some of the jam, which was very nice. Sometimes we would have potluck lunches at work (for special occasions), and people would bring all kinds of homemade exotic dishes that they had made at home, although one woman would bring a bucket of fried chicken that she had bought, and a few people would bring chips and drinks that they had bought. There were always massive amounts of leftovers. The main time that I overbuy is when I go to a farmers' market, and the reason for this is that I do not go more than once a week, as a rule, and that is on week-ends.
