Color ideas for shutters and garage doors?
I need ideas for what colors to paint the shutters, garage doors, and front door. Having these painted tomorrow and stressing about making the right choice!
I'm mostly a Sherwin Williams paint person... Leaning towards Iron Ore for the shutters. Wanted darker on the garage doors, but lighter than Iron Ore... Was thinking Peppercorn... But now I'm scared it has blue undertones and might look bad.
For the front door - thinking a bright red, but don't have anything picked out yet. Also considered an olive toned green...
Please help! I have to go get paint like now, and don't want to make the wrong choice! Posting a picture of the house.

Comments (6)This is a recommended color from SW for Mindful Gray…homburg gray. I would do this on the shutters and the garage doors and leave the wood door as is. The two middle windows shouldn’t have shutters as the won’t fit appropriately, but you are not painting the siding and the darker outlines of the shutters will show if you don’t replace what was there. Comments (19)If you make the other changes as suggested, I don't think you'll feel the need to paint the brick. There's no sense creating a maintenance issue where there is none now. The house has the potential to be very handsome. Some pretty pots with flowers on either side of your door will add some color as well. Comments (9)I pulled up this photo. The brick is a little darker but similar to yours, I thought. I like the idea of a green for your shutters and I wondered about painting both door and trim a dark color, maybe a dark purplish almost black. I think the column could be pulled from your chart, a warmer tone than your current white - maybe Swiss Coffee. Think about whether you'd like that same color for your railing and maybe a dark brown from your brick for the treads and risers. Here's a screenshot of some greens that might work. 3 years ago@Design Girl you're probably right. I HATE the siding color :( unfortunately, I don't think it's in the cards to change it as we're really just hoping to be here short term for a flip. But, the shutters were already painted Iron Ore today. The garage doors comes tomorrow, and boyfriend wants to just paint them the same as the shutters... so iron ore... Which I might just go with now, even though it's dark. He's pretty set on the red door though... I'm not really a fan personally. I hate red. I wanted this color for the door. Can't always get what you want, I think that's how the song goes? I hear ya about the iron ore being dark. I do like it on the shutters, not sure how I'll feel about the garage door being so dark though. I guess we'll see. Can't be any worse than it was before... such awful colors.
