Need color ideas for front door, porch, steps, shutters;landscape idea
Last year, we used solid black stain on the porch which we regretted so last week, we finally stripped most of the stain off. We purchased matte black paint for the front door but now I'm considering a light color instead to create a more inviting aesthetic. Searching for ideas on pinterest has become overwhelming, lol, so I'm seeking your help for any suggestions specific to (the color of) my house : )
I would really appreciate your ideas on how to make it all look better.

***THE FULL photo of the house is from LAST YEAR, we've since changed the door handle/locks, window blinds and the landscape looks better NOW but still needs improvement***

I say the choices are endless because we have no idea of the size you need or how any of them would look against your house. Comments (20)Beautiful home. I'm not sure if it would work for your style home, but I've always loved the look of a mirror styled like a faux window on front porches. I think one would fit well over your bench. I would also add a colorful (yellow?) bench cushion, maybe a chair in a matching color off to the right, and a colorful wreath on the door (forsythia?). I would also add two planters on the first step where it widens out toward the lights. Comments (9)IMO, the porch looks low and dark because that's where the roof line is lowest. I think putting rock veneer there will make it look even more cave-like. I also don't think it will enhance your tropical plantings and the feeling you're going for in the landscape. I'm drawn to these colors but not sure which to apply to doors, shutters, steps
3 years agolast modified: 3 years agoI pulled up this photo. The brick is a little darker but similar to yours, I thought.
I like the idea of a green for your shutters and I wondered about painting both door and trim a dark color, maybe a dark purplish almost black. I think the column could be pulled from your chart, a warmer tone than your current white - maybe Swiss Coffee. Think about whether you'd like that same color for your railing and maybe a dark brown from your brick for the treads and risers.

i think we'll lean towards blue/grey shutters, light blue grey door, light grey steps, white risers
I also looove Boothbay gray Ben Moore for the door not sure what to use for shutters
