How long should a full bath remodel take??
Comments (33)Actually bathplanet could do complete shower renovations in 1 day with 1 licensed and insured contractor. How do i know? i was that one guy in Nashville Tennesse that could. My name is still on lots of positive reviews on the their website. however for every successful amd happy customer of mine there was a dozen other displeased and lied to clients. While i tried to take time to insure proper installion with quality matariels and workmanship was at the higgest regard. Bathplanet did not necessarily agree or appreciate my level of quality and professionalism. Companies like bathplanet, bath fitters, and McDonalds use undertrained or nontrained greenhorn idiots that have no idea what there doing! More often then not your so called installer is merely a warm body who spends more time on the phone calling the boss for help or getting high out back then a highly trained professional who cares about your satisfaction and longevity of your overpriced peice of printed acrylic. if you want a quailty product from end to finish dont expect a day transformation. While it maybe possiable i guarantee the odds are not in your favor. its been several years since moving on from McBathPlanet 🛀 and even longer since thread was created.. just had vent… End rant!! Rome was not built in a day and neither should your bathroom....See MoreHelp with Master bath remodel and layout
Comments (5)@Lotteryticket, the door to the bathroom is the end of the hallway that is not visible in the photo or on the drawing. That hallway is about 8' long by 44" wide. The bathroom is above a stairwell in a dormer so the wall are outside walls and the one at the foot of the tub is the space for the stairwell. We are stuck with this foot print unless we want to go big - and we really don't. This room also faces north so while I love the light that the window brings in, it does limit what can be done in the space....See MoreHelp reimagine 7'x8' bath?
Comments (22)OK, let's talk colors. As you can tell, I REALLY LIKE COLOR. So while I keep saying I want to go cooler and paler – and there's almost nowhere else to go once you've got Chinese Orange walls – I have been busily collecting tile samples, both IRL and in pictures, in many favorite colors – (reinserting fabric pic next to that kitchen so you can see where I'm coming from:) I am aware, though, that there's a lot to be said for using a more neutral tile and doing the stronger colors in paint, so I can change my mind cheaply every few years. However, I'm loathe to use plain ol' white tile when I finally get to do the bathroom of my dreams. A white or grey-white floor, as is currently trendy as well as typical of the '20s, is just too cool for the palette I'm imagining. What I'm having trouble envisioning is what might serve as a warm-but-light, non-boring neutral for either floor or wall tile, but not read as beigey. Comments (5)Thanks for your input. The budget is $25-30K, in Los Angeles. That's about twice what we went into this "wanting" to spend. I'm not expecting to recoup the entire cost, but we're in a rapidly changing neighborhood with rapidly escalating home prices, so it's not totally outside the realm of possibility. It's also possible that we could stay much longer than I think. We bolted the foundation, restored/replaced the hardwood floors, removed/hid the popcorn ceilings, and widened the bedroom closet doors last year when we moved in. We got off easy on the asbestos, but doubled our costs when we found out all of our gas lines and half our electrical needed to be replaced ASAP. So yeah, I'm worried that our 20% contingency cushion won't cut it this time either. Option 2 opens onto the laundry alcove that is directly off the kitchen. I agree, it's not ideal. It is also more limiting in terms of potential future projects like a kitchen remodel. I'm really leaning toward the master suite. Additional storage will come from a built-in bench in the dining room window bay, custom surrounds for the laundry and refrigerator, and--who am I kidding?--probably a larger shed as well. Never buy a house without a garage....See MoreMichele Rodecker
