Anything that needs to be coddled doesn't belong in my flowerbeds so I'll pass on Moonbeam--reluctantly--unless I come across it on a markdown table at some point and try it again with that below grade planting. Sienna Sunset didn't come back either but that was definitely my fault so I'll give that one another chance if I find it somewhere. Zagreb has more than outgrown the spot where I originally planted it so that'll get divided this year and planted in a few other spots around the garden.

At the rate and level you use a propane heater, it may not have the same effect on your plants... it may not be enough to affect anything... it may be that certain plants aren't as adversely affected by the exhaust, either. I'm not really sure. I just remember very clearly all the poor Poinsettias dropping wrinkled, yellowed leaves... some of the plants wilting and dying... it was quite a loss. I think if you're circulating a little fresh air into the mix, you will avoid any possibility of bad effects. Good air circulation is important for enclosed growing spaces, so it's something we do commonly, anyway. I'm so glad to hear you are getting some relief from cortisone shots! That's great news! :-) My husband went through the cortisone shots decades ago, when they first were trying to treat his damaged spine. They worked on a temporary basis, but the damage is too great, I think. He's been through every treatment there is, except actual surgery... which we refuse to go through. There are no guarantees he would come through any surgery without becoming completely paralyzed, and we're just not willing to take the chance, until he already is paralyzed. At that point, we have nothing to lose by trying. Of all the people we know who have gone under the knife for back problems... and that includes quite a few people... not one has gotten the results they expected, and a few are worse for having had surgery. We don't like the odds. And we can't afford the best surgeons or the best treatments, so we're kind of stuck. The last treatments he had were some steroid injections, which seem to have given him more range of motion in his neck, which is a good thing... but his back is about the same. It's trashed. I'm in better shape than he is... but we're both what we call "semi-crippled", or actually semi-disabled. Oh, well... what can you do? We just roll with the punches... life goes on! African Violets are so pretty, but I haven't had much luck growing them. They always seem to die on me. I'm very lucky to get the few orchids I have to stay alive and limp along! In fact, I freaked myself out earlier... I went to mist the Phal I recently transplanted into a new pot... it was dying in the moss the grower had it in... and I noticed that the tiny little Dendrobium keiki that Chaz sent me several years ago is throwing up its very first buds!!! It's the first or second picture on the first page of my 2011 photo album. I'm so stoked!! I actually kept it alive, and it's decided to gift me with blooms! I couldn't be happier! See? This is one of those wonderful moments in life that I would have missed if I hadn't been taking my time, looking carefully at all my plants... it's just amazing! :-) I hope I didn't jinx it into dropping its buds! ;-) Oh, anyway... I'm thrilled you are getting a light setup and growing Gesneriads... that's so cool! :-) And you now have a nice spot to enjoy Hippi blooms, too! Whew! What a day it's been! I just noticed I was replying to a very, very old post, but figured I'd leave it in case anyone is still reading. I had a bad experience with this zinsser oil based interior/exterior cover stain as well. I did not tint but it is tintable. I used it right after buying from depot and having it shaken for 5 min at the counter. I applied on an outside beam that was partially prepped with a wood hardener after removing dry rot, but the majority was just the previous paint that was in good shape. 2 days after painting, it's still slightly tacky. I called zinsser support and they said the only thing they could think of is if I had been applied on too hot of a day, saying it needs to be under 80F. It was topped out at just under 70 the day I painted, but the sun here does get hot in the South Bay below San Francisco, so maybe the surface was hotter?? I'll check today compared to air temp. If temperature wasn't the cause, then my experience seems similar to yours. In my case it would be a huge job to remove the product from the large outdoor beam so I'm looking for other solutions. I still need to add an epoxy pc woodie filler where I had removed and cleaned out dry rot before applying the cover stain (just used to make sure the pc woodie epoxy would stick and add an extra layer of protection against the weather to the entire beam...which I now wish I had skipped!) My current plan is to wait it out a week or 2 and hopefully dries (next week is supposed to be low 70's but the rest of this week is 80's. In the upper 80's the 2nd layer is even forming a few bubbles, so I've just been popping those to make sure it dries out beneath. It's only slightly tacky, but looking for no tackiness before I take the next step. If anyone has any tips or any idea if waiting longer will help, let me know please. Thanks! And for the next time, a better product to use than this zinsser oil based primer which was highly recommended by depot.

Morz i am 36. I did have a good time. I did not get nearly as annoyed as I normally do, as the food was all made ahead and just had to be reheated,except for some Buffalo chicken dip egg rolls that I made last minute. I was given all the compliments and accolades I deserve. Then I came home and made chicken quesadillas and rice for SO. Now I am watching Two Fat Ladies with my feet up. I am worn out but I have had a lot of other things going on this week besides the cooking marathon that I had to do. Nothing excessive. I had to take a stray orange tabby tomcat to the vet to have him fixed. He has decided he lives here now. Which is fine. Outdoor cats are always useful out here in the sticks. I named him George. George, the Duke of Orange. He is a cuddle bug which is somewhat an issue because I am allergic. So me and Allegra have been best friends lately. I had to go all over creation to try to buy a new fridge because mine is giving me attitude and NO ONE can deliver one before the turn of the next century it seems. I finally got one ordered and coming in a week. Seriously, why does it take a miracle to get an appliance lately? There is a dead creature, I suspect a mouse in the wall in my master bathroom which is making me hate my whole life. And I have lots of overtime coming up. So a party was a welcome distraction,even if I did do all the work. A success!
