Not very successful tv viewing day for me

I look forward to weekends, just to catch up on tv shows and watch a couple of movies. I don't watch tv through the week at all.

It rained all day today, and I made my bread and went for a short walk and was looking foward to watching some decent tv.

Last week I watched the Pilot of Filthy Rich. Meh, pretty lame show, but I'd give it one more shot. Turned if off halfway through the second episode. Lame premise and acting.

Watched Jane Fonda and Robert Redford in Our Souls at Night, a 2017. I like them both as actors, but this was very slow-moving. Seemed to take a long time to get through 2 hours.

Dirty Music was recommended in our local paper recently. A movie set in the Australian outback. No great shakes either, I didn't watch it all.

I just finished The Lake House an older movie with Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves. It bounced back and forth between 2 years and was a bit confusing. Too, not fast paced at all. I was less than impressed, but that could be just me.

I'm currently watching Outlander and don't want to use all the seasons up. There's a new season starting in January. I love it.

I'm also watching Dolly Parton's Heartstrings for feel good movies.

I need some inspiration. What are you currently watching?

the safety part yes it should be safe, my friend uses hers to order online and I think she does some banking too. The printer you need to check the list they have for the ones that are definitely compatible my friend has use 2 different ones with no problems, for mouse she had to try a few usb plug and play versions till she hit one she liked that worked well, using a usb wireless mouse is a good idea since the keyboard is wireless too, now the remote can be used to take on some of the duties of a mouse and the keyboard that comes with it is a specially designed one that has special keys to do certain things, the usb ports are in the back of the unit so I had her get a usb cord to be able to run it to the front then plug in a little usb hub to plug her mouse into that gives more usb ports. I would definitely go to the forums they have some very good ones dedicated to these units. My friend has learned so much about hers from those forums. You do not have to worry about getting any updates the updates are sent right to the units and remember this is not a regular pc so no software can be loaded but you can use websites like google Docs to do word processing and docs and spreadsheets etc and you can then have your printer print them.. You can set up other email on line if you prefer also. My suggestion on the mouse would be a small notebook sized mouse in usb wireless. They are smaller and easier to handle with older hands or arthritic hands, I have arthritis and I much prefer using a small mouse. you can google search for some of the forums but I know my friend said it has links to them on her unit home page.

Sorry to hear that your furnace died. They always do that when you need them the most. What you need is a warm little lap dog to keep you toasty warm. Mine does that even when I have the heat on. But do stay under a blanket and drinks lots of hot beverages. You don't want to catch a chill. That happened to me one winter while DH was away on a business trip. I kept the fire going in the fireplace for 2 days. I didn't want to call a repair guy because DH does all the repairs and most outfits charge an arm and a leg. It turned out to need a new ignition switch which only cost a couple of bucks at the time. You can guess how much a pro would have charged. Clare

Mimou, I agree the Reagans' photo is very cute with that mischievous look on Nancy's face but I still can't figure out what's actually going on there--she isn't tugging on his coat, she is holding a glass of wine in one hand and Liz Taylor's hand in the other(?????). As for the Obamas, one thing the documentary makes so clear is the simple basic human goodness in how they lived and are still living. The pictures of him and Michelle as textbook illustrations of a solid loving marriage; the images of him as a devoted father of much loved daughters; the shots of them with Michelle's mother who was the wind beneath their wings taking care of the girls; the group pictures of him with his diverse team working together on ways to make life better for the country....all of it is evocative of core values that ANY president should embody. It's astounding to consider the vicious hate blasted at these folks who by every measure embody what everyone would agree represents the very best of the American ideal: educated, productive, caring people who rose from humble beginnings and who are raising great future citizens in a committed and loving partnership. It sure strips bare what racism really looks like doesn't it?

- Fargo started again last week with 2 episodes. Comes on FX. I've enjoyed previous seasons but not sure about this one yet. I did think Chris Rock was good in it. Another series I liked was The White Queen, then The White Princess, and then The Spanish Queen. It starts again I think next week on Starz. If you think you might be interested be sure to start with the White Queen.

Kind of like you...jumped around....Watched part of "Shawshank" (seen it many,

many times...still catch it once in awhile). Watched "Good Will Hunting"..loved

it...thought I had seen it, but never all the way through, I guess. Watched

a real dud on PBS last night "Flesh and Blood"...mean, nasty and so darn

depressing...won't watch the last couple of episodes. BTW...I love "The

Lake House"...one of my all time favorites. But, anything Keanu..is good

by me.

We enjoyed "Dickensian" and wished it had been renewed. Try these 30-minute taped stage shows for a guaranteed laugh: "The Goes WRONG Show". We're waiting and waiting for Season 7 of "Spiral" (French cops/justice system). I'd recommend "Motherless Brooklyn" (somewhat artsy mystery involving NYC's relentless builder Robert Moses). We saw it on a DVD from our library.

I am a devoted fan on youtube of Chateau Diaries. This is a vlog made by an Englishwoman who bought a chateau 15 years ago with her parents. She renovates with the help of friends and people on a work program but it is not a makeover show. This is not a reality show of TV ilk. This is not about consumerism and wealth. It's about history and keeping beauty in our everyday lives. No preaching just doing. Quite a few chateaus in France have been bough by English people and there are several other good vlogs but this is the lynchpin. I started by chance somewhere in the middle of the series that continues weekly. Then I went back and watched chronologically. The skills of the vlogger, Stephanie Jarvis, have vastly improved since the first videos. There are no nasty comments and it is a world of light.

Sammy....one of my old TV stations was showing a marathon of all the Rockys

this week-end. I had forgotten how young he looked in the very first one (still

my favorite). :)

I rarely watch any regular TV other than PBS. But I do have several streaming services and I am in the middle of watching a re-release of All Creatures Great and Small on Britbox. And I got a free trial month of Amazon Prime and have been binging on Bosch, Endeavor and Silent Witness and eager to start The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel before my month runs out!

I also recently sought relief from our current disastrous political climate by watching all of the West Wing....again :-)

And I did watch PBS last night and quite liked Flesh and Blood. I love Francesca Annis and British dramas do tend to be be pretty gritty and often dark. And they are rebroadcasting Escape to the Chateau, which is an absolute joy to watch!

I also admit to watching a couple of Tyler Perry's Medea Halloween themed movies - they crack me up!!

Garden Gal...I am chuckling about you liking Flesh and Blood. My DD and I

watched it together, and our greatest wish is that ALL of the family are in

the Body Bag, and the police come back and shoot the neighbor. LOL It

does make one thankful for a normal family, though. Endeavor has always

been a favorite of ours ,too. and has been on our PBS. There was a marathon of Escape to the Chateau, so didn't see them all...but did watch a couple.

Liked Mrs. Maisel on Amazon Prime. Have you watched "Unbelievable" with

Kaitlyn Dever (from Tim Allen's Sitcom) ? Powerful story...think you can get

it with Prime, too.

Yeah, that neighbor lady is a piece of work!! And her son is a bit of an a-hole as well. Have only seen the first episode so waiting see how things develop :-)
