Friends of the Rouge: Fall 2020 Master Rain Gardener

I am taking Friends of the Rouge's Fall 2020: Master Rain Gardener course. Our homework is to post a picture about where we are thinking of placing a rain garden.

This is my potential site. It is close to the road (about 4 feet away, no sidewalks) which makes salt a problem. The front yard has a natural slope downward to this swale and water collects here regularly. I haven't tested the soil percolation, but based on observations post heavy rain, this is a good spot for absorption. The black line represents 25 feet to the wooden barrier wall where a drainage pipe runs underneath the driveway and connects to a swale on the other side.
