I haven't slept on that exact one but I have slept on several different brands of inflatable beds. Everyone has been a wonderful sleep. We have one that isn't raised but it is very deep. We slept on it for 15 nights this past Spring and it was a great sleep every single night. It has a very nice comfort top to it and DH and I both commented that it was better than our bed at home. My brother had a high end inflatable mattress on his fold out couch instead of the one that came with itâ¦he paid to have the inflatable instead. It was great and I slept on it for weeks at a time for several years when I stayed at his place in NYC .DH was with me on several occasions and again commented on how comfortable it was. I can't imagine that the one you are looking at would be any less wonderful. Sounds like a more practical solution for you and also no one is going to be using it for weeks at a time anyway. Only concern would be the pump. Can you ask online and see what the response is ? I know you can on Amazon. good luck . c

Congratulations on your new home! I have, like others who have responded to your post, had considerable luck with garage sales, estate sales, and thrift shops. Habitat for Humanity ReStore, Goodwill, Salvation Army, and St. Vincent de Paul can all be good sources for furniture and housewares. Nextdoor can be a good source for free or reasonably priced items (I know this from experience; others have had success with Craigslist and/or Freecycle, but I have not bought anything on either of those sites). Discount stores (Target, Walmart, and the like) can be fruitful, as can IKEA (you may want to check reviews of products on the internet before buying). I have even had some luck in finding items that have been placed at curbside or next to dumpsters for disposal but happened to be just what I needed for a particular purpose. Be wary of used cushions and pillows, as they may harbor vermin; if you buy such items used, have them cleaned thoroughly. Create idea books, but set a realistic budget and stick to it.

Alice, happy to hear Fred gets a vacation from the guest room when you will actually have guests! If there is room to move the sofa to the opposite side, I would prefer it there. I never like to sleep with my back to a window, but would like to see the window from the bed. When you look for nightstands, perhaps you could find two small sets of drawers instead so you would have some extra storage for your guests. I like reading lamps beside my bed and need a place for my glasses. You could divide the closet so you have half with shelves and hanging space for guests' clothes and suitcases. You could still leave half for the sweeper, etc. I always appreciate a bottle of water, a small box of Kleenex (allergies!), and the written password for WiFi. I think framed photos of local sites is great in a guest room-the beach, your favorite local restaurant, the park, etc.

Stick to traditional looking tile. You can work with LVT (Luxury Vinyl TILE in a tile/stone look) or you can go with the real thing. Doesn't matter. So long as you stick with an appropriate (for a wet room) look. The BIGGEST issue we see on Houzz is this: "Help! I have wood-look tile in bathroom but I don't want it in the rest of the house! I want real wood...but it looks AWEFUL next to the bathroom wood!" Yah. We see it ALL. THE. TIME. Do NOT paint yourself into a design dilemma corner. Always think ahead to when you are going to replace the carpet. If you ever want something new there (like wood or laminate or bamboo or vinyl in wood look) you do NOT want to 'use up' the wood look in a tiny bathroom. It will SPOIL every other 'wood' decision you have. Or you will have to redo the bathroom when you redo the rest of the floors. And yes...we've seen that to. Someone spends a few bucks today, only to have to SPEND IT AGAIN 5 years later. Oooops. Keep the bathroom floors looking like tile or stone (or cork...love cork) so that the rest of the house is 'free' to have wood...anytime; anywhere!
