I am looking for a quality sectional too for a new townhouse family room. These are the companies that I have read good things about on this forum and on the web: Cochrane, Carolina Chair, Kincaid and Flexsteel. Arhaus, like Restoration Hardware, and Pottery Barn have lots of stuff that looks good, looks fashionable, but when compared to other lines, not well made or comfortable. Look into (for about the same price) Taylor King (Portfolio Collection) where you can build a sectional pick your arm style, base options at no charge. $6300 for a 110" X 110 " sectional, 8 way hand tied, solid Maple frame. No down, down extra. Lot of fabrics to choose from for that price. Henredon, Fireside same options, grade C $7499 (Spring Blend Down seats, Down Backs, 8 way hand tied) 10-15 fabrics for that price. Flexsteel, $5000

I have a purple (!) microsuede slip-covered sectional;about 10 years old. I was leery at purchase time b/c it was not at all what I'd imagined, but it has been wonderful. It cleans easily with a wet paper towel (until it's time to toss the slips into the washer), dog fur vacuums off easily, and it is soft and cozy but still stays tidy looking. The brand is Rowe (which does not have terrific online reviews ) but we've been very happy with it. The slips fit tightly and the purple color doesn't look crazy with my other furniture. The one problem is that the pieces do not fasten together well.

We have a sectional with hide-a-bed. No, you can't tell the bed is inside. If anything, the part where the bed is looks better than the other one after few years of use, because the leather there still seems new and less saggy. You also can't feel it when sitting. The sectional is nothing special but is not bad either..if I'm not mistaken, it was made by Natuzzi's cheaper line. As for the quality of a bed inside-it will work fine for young and healthy. All the other guests, I try to accommodate differently, unless they stay only for a night or two. Although truth must be told-also because of privacy issue..the sectional is in the family room, so naturally it is less convenient for a guest/s to stay there for more a couple nights in a row.
