Springwood Gardens: Thanks for the info. I probably won't end up using Moonlight if it tends to be on the paler side. I'm actually going to be replacing my existing Endless Summer with whatever I end up planting. I'm looking for a hydrangea that offers more vivid color and doesn't get as larger as Endless Summer....so maybe Rhapsody Blue or Blue Jangle? nhbabs: Thanks for the good advice. I agree. I actually have a low row of dwarf boxwoods that edge the garden...so they will be in front of the hydrangeas to provide year round color. Wow! I got my seeds! It took a little detective work to figure out what swap this package belonged to, but once the fear of having lost my mind were over and i started pulling out my seed packets and recording them, the pleasure stretched out to 181 packets of a great variety of seeds, thanks to all of you, my new GGF(great and generous friends). you guys are de bom! The assortment is awsome considering that there was no want list matchups at all. Cathy, awsome job sorting our packages, I only got 2 of my own seeds, and the rest was just pure pleasure to receive and record! Thank you. Chris

I've had a LDBE for about 5 years and have moved it several times. It only gets about 2' tall per year and gets 1-2 blooms. Very susceptible to freeze damage. When it does bloom the color is very "peachy" which is attractive. The leaves also turn very light in the sun. I'm not really a fan of it though. I've done much better with LD Rhythmic Blue and Rave. My parents also have a Blue Jangles which is 3x3' this year with about 15 blooms and is doing very well. I'm considering donating LDBE to someone or another place, or moving it down the hill into the woods along a couple trails I made this year. If anyone else can chime in with some LDBE photos (depicting plant siting, etc) that would be helpful as well!

Looks and sounds good to me ,i doubled down on Freebird looks like it will do as advertised. With the Nantucket Blue & Pauls Glory hosta should look nice if NB stays at 4.5 ish feet if not i have a spare Dave Ramsey or i can find that Ld Rave. Plants sales are everywhere right now, still some good looking stuff out there Home depot near Ross park mall has just about everything 75 percent off. Hydrangea zebra,zorro, nikko,penny,LA dreamin, various randoms,a lace cap from gardeners confidence and Cherry dazzle myrtle (twiggy). Midnight Dutchess from that line is now cancelled, not sure which one was there. If its the cancelled one i may pick it up, it's dirt cheap and i have no lace caps. For full price they had Forever and ever gallons really wanted FE Together but, the pot was cracked and it looked dead. They actually got in a fresh shipment of hydrangea during this heat a whole rack of glowing embers wilting in the sun. Those will be on clearance along with the other 6 to 8 skids of hydrangea. While these sales are happening might pick some hydrangea i wouldn't normally. Springwood you have been extremely helpful, you have high degree of knowledge on the topic i find it very refreshing. Hopefully these sales yeild some showpiece cultivars like a Lady in red or Plum passion hydrangea. Thanks again Springwood much appreciated.
