My Plumeria rooted within 2 weeks. I was astonished at how fast it had a deep hold in the soil. If it hasn't rooted by now in damp soil, then I would remove the cutting and allow it to dry before planting it again. It only needs a little bit of water. Make sure to use rooting hormone to be on the safe side. The only thing that I can think of that I really did different was putting a light really close to the growth points at the top. The leaves start out as these small green bumps at the top of the stem, and within a few days they were already starting to grow. If it is not too late, I would try that. But be warned, rooting is the easy part. The leaves are very sensitive to temperature drops. One day in the low 50s with my windows open made it loose all its leaves. Hope this helps because these are really cool plants if you can get them to take.

I want to believe that it's looking better, but it's hard to tell if something is different when you stare at it everyday. :/ edzone9- thank you for your advice. :) the_first_kms2- when I noticed the tip, my first thought was "No wonder this was on sale". My next thought was that it got 'frostbite' from being shipped in the belly of a cargo plane. I came here to the forums and learned enough to worry that it was black tip. You are right about the heat source too. All the cuttings and seedlings are located in the sunniest part of my apartment, which also happens to be the warmest, but no direct heat source. I read the forum enough to know that I could push my zone and grow plumeria in New Mexico, but it wasn't until after i had everything in pots that I found the threads regarding rooting in water/Gatorade bottles. It's starting to be warm enough during the day that I'm willing to take them outside for a few hours, but that's the best I can do right now. gaguy- thank you for your pictures. Makes me feel a lot better if I eventually do have to cut the tip.

Hi, Ann ... Please visit the adenium forum when you get a chance. Since you are the original poster, I'll answer you here. If you sowed 19 seeds and they all germinated, that is an outstanding germination rate. The seedlings look healthy ... Congratulations! Regarding the 3 that may be dying ... I believe what I see is 2 seedlings with damaged shriveled tips. Usually, what causes this is pulling on the seed casings or "hats" ... I have just killed one doing just that. It's best to defer from this practice. The casings will eventually fall off on their own. Once the tip is damaged, the seedling cannot produce leaves for photosynthesis and will begin to lose color & die. The white seedling is an albino and will die for the same reason. Enjoy your remaining seedlings. I hope you get a nice variety of blooms. The yogurt cups will keep them for 3 months, after which you can pot up to 3-4" pots. I have two "rooted" cuttings on the way & wonder if using my gritty, bonsai mix might be right for these? I have lots of pumice, bird grit, zoelite, etc. around also.
