We purchased a home five years ago and we are finally going to purchase a built in refrigerator and put white panels on it (which goes with our thermafoil cabinets.) I have seen the GE monogram in model homes with the exact panels I am going to use. It's "framed" and they have a long stainless handle and some stainless trim (but white ice maker front)--and it looks pretty. However the monogram is pricier than the Kitchen Aid and I have heard some complaints about it. I am worried about what the Kitchen Aid would look like with white panels. Kitchen Aid offers panel ready "white" which has white handles and white trim--but I can't find a picture of that (either with white panels or even a good picture of it without) anywhere on the entire internet or in the stores. I'm worried it's going to look cheesy or cheap. Kitchen Aid also has panel ready stainless which can be covered with the white panels but the ice maker part on the outside door would be silver colored (the monogram does this right and it's white). Can anyone give me feedback on the look of kitchen aid (the architect series) with white cabinet panels? Thank you so much. Melissa

bbtrix, You're right about what I left out. I should have included the opposite wall in my posted layout but idk how to indicate a stud-bay pantry and pull-down table in floorplanner. I guess I could just put in a couple of lines with a note. We were still planning to do something like that, although maybe a narrow table with a stool underneath instead of a pull-down table (even though it would technically be in the way of traffic, we can deal with something that protrudes 12" or so). We probably can't do an under-cab MW just yet, as my youngest would probably spill stuff/burn himself, but in a couple years we could do that. I do want a few hooks and a place to put a couple pairs of shoes, but our front is our "main" entrance, or at least it's where we store more stuff. When we come in the back door, we are supposed to bring our shoes to the front, although we don't always do that (me too, not just the kids). We also have a closet and storage baskets in the front, so everything is *supposed* to be carried there. What hangs in the back is my apron and a few fleeces/windbreakers (and snow pants to drip/dry when we have snow but that's been sparse lately). So we need a little space for that, but not a ton. Sometimes I hang my purse in there out of reach of the cat, who finds the leather straps just right for chewing. That said, I am intrigued by the idea of the wall table on that *back wall* under the window in the next plan. If we did that, we could then use the space next to the stud-bay pantry for coats & shoes. And I didn't even know that Ikea made a fold-down table. I like the sound of a $40 table a lot better than a custom one. I wonder if I could put some fun contact paper on it so the whites wouldn't clash. That second layout is close to what I thought was The One, but several people here talked me out of having the fridge along that opposite wall next to the DR door. Even one of the people who originally suggested it changed her mind. Strong words were used. lol. I think I have officially abandoned that one. But this definitely gives me more to think about. Yes we are putting them side by side and probably don’t want the panels. Yes we are getting 2 dishwashers. I really like the Miele with 3D cutlery tray at the top. I suppose we could still get 1 Miele dishwasher with the Thermador package but if we were to go with a 30 inch Thermador fridge and 24 inch Thermador freezer with external dispenser, with stainless panels and professional handles, would be about $5k more than the SubZero 48 inch builtin fridge for us. And Thermador like Subzero does not have printshield finish. And new Thermador freezer with external dispenser has no shelves on the door so less storage. So even though we really considered Thermador for everything, switched to Miele or SubZero/Wolf because we also want a combisteam oven which apparently are better by Miele and Wolf. Anyways, think I am leaning to Subzero fridge/freezer but worried will be sorry not just getting everything Miele. Miele’s prices just went up today too even though also started back up 10 percent off deal. Miele just seems like excellent quality and ease of use, even though probably more drawn to professional look of Subzero/Wolf. So confused!!!!!

You are making this too hard! Most cabinet hardware lines will have a matching "appliance pull", usually offered in a few different sizes. For the SZ columns I installed in my last kitchen remodel, the drawer pulls I ordered were 10" and the fridge/freezer door pulls were 16". Some people like them much longer. The certified SZ installers installed the fridge and freezer and also installed the pulls before mounting the wood door panels to the fridge and freezer.
