Remove that carpet from the ledge that is just silly. I would look for an amazing contemporary wallpaper for above the trim and a coordinating color of paint for the bottom. When you have the money change those spindles to something much simpler if you like contemporary.I love a touch of metallic. Remove the carpet from the stairs and paint the spindles white, A nice sized round table with gold legs and glass top with a fab lamp with a gold lined shade in either white or black depending on the wall paper and a vase for fresh flowers when you entertain or just for everyday.

Why not just use Alabaster? If you want to go lighter than Accessible Beige, then you’re heading into whites anyway. I’m not sure I’d want to add another white to the mix with Dover and Alabaster. I’d pick one of them and I like the look of all one white for wall and trim. Aesthetic white is the shade lighter than Accessible Beige. Or you could choose Dover, but I think it’s nice to have some contrast with cabinets. Dover looks yellow against any white that isn’t a creamy yellow.
