I love slate with log homes and you could do vinyl tile that looks like slate to keep the floor a bit warmer BTW too bad you went white for cabinets a nice soft blue would have beem nlovely also I would tape some white paper up where you are planning to paint I woudl hesitate to do that but you need to really up the lighting all LEDs 4000K will make the whole space feel lighter

I live in a log home myself. I see that your previous inhabitants chose a darker stain than I did for my interior wood. (My very-interior walls are also sheetrock, with wood trim, which helps tone down wood.) I went with a fair amount of sage garden green for paint, and with SW Canvas Tan for other areas in my home. Kitchen cabinetry is all "natural" stained wood - just darkened the pine in a very slight way.

I wish I could tell you the stain color for my flooring - my builder and I went through several iterations until we came up with a mixed blend - I wanted a mid-tone brown (darker than my walls but not so dark as to show every bit of lint or random cat hair....) In your case, I'd go a lot lighter since your walls are darker than mine. Avoiding the orange.

Patricia's suggestion for vinyl resembling slate could work. Indeed, if you have no sheetrock at all, I'd certainly considering going that direction. Check samples.

Try looking at HOUZZ photos...type in “painted log cabin interiors”...see what lots of other people did with their cabins ....this will help with ideas and direction for your project

Thanks for the comments. We've looked through a lot of flooring ideas and decided we really like a dark hickory. We just couldn't find anything else that we liked as well. We do have sheet rock on our interior walls and we will be adding more lighting boxes on the ceilings so we can brighten it up. I'm hoping that by painting the ceilings white it will at least not be darker than it is now. Our current floors are light, so we are basically swapping the dark ceiling and the light floors. Right now the walls are a light yellow, but we will be painting them. We didn't have a lot of choices of color in cabinets in our price range. I figured we could more easily paint over white then another color. I hope we won't regret the darker floors, but I figured we can put down light colored area rugs. I'm including some photos from the floor planning software of what the hickory will look like. Of course this is still with the dark ceilings and old cabinets, so it might be hard to judge.
