I am so BORED already. And it's just started.
Comments (43)Glad to read I'm not the only one feeling crazy over winter... I'm just about finished with choosing seeds, am looking to purchase a new load of topsoil (for my raised beds) and wishing the snow and ice would disappear... I have an assortment of veggies growing in low hoop houses - but the temps have been so cold, I haven't looked inside since the big storm on Sunday. The snow and ice didn't damage the hoops, so perhaps my salad bar will be ok. So far, we're harvesting lettuces, various greens, beets, carrots, chard, radishes, cabbage, but the broccoli has given up. Pn - I'm interested in your minerals seminar - any links? And fascinated to hear that I might be able to overwinter fava beans - can't say I'm a huge fan, but maybe they taste better from the garden. :) Thanks, Cindy...See MoreI'm so embarrassed - I got scammed
Comments (13)Coloredthumb .... Thank you so much ! I could picture you laughing & saying those things ..... and wagging your finger at me !! I really thought you were being "mother hen" ~~ LOL ( I just had to make sure ! ) MY emotions are wack-o now . I should never had doubted you . I'm sorry ! ((((( Colored Thumb )))))) When I took my written cancellation notice to the Post Office today ... The guy at the post office was being so sympathetic and wanting to help every way he can . He was a gem . He explained certified mail to me ... how it's legal ... he made every effort to make sure I knew everything . I Sent the letter - certified - return reciept requested. I have evidence that I sent it on time. I also called my bank .... I never knew customer service was open all day Sunday ! Ashamed - I again told my stoopid story .......and to my surprise .. the gentleman that took my call was so supportive . We stayed on the phone for about 10 minutes -- he assured me that I'm not the only one. He explained how scammers play on your emotions ... he was dead on . What a wonderful guy . He also suggested that since I gave them a personal check - ( that can't be cashed because of the stop payment ) they now have my bank account number and might decide to "get revenge" by stealing my identity. I should change the account number . I'll be doing that tomorrow. I'm just in awe of people that are really concerned - not laughing because I Was so stupid - but really are trying to help me. I love my little part of the world .....See MoreBored and depressed so i bought this for $2
Comments (33)This one is definitely not ugly, Neil's! ;-) Good choice! They go beautifully together. Yea, it has been a humid summer. I felt more anger than depression but it was the first time since 2000 or so that I resorted to spraying anything. Almost made me want to pull out all the tomatoes, spraying in this disgusting heat. Of course, now it's too cold, but the rest of this week looks warmer. My edibles still need time. I'm also chasing the sun. I'm the little Asian woman running back and forth from the back of the house to the front with pots in hand. It's pathetic and I feel overwhelmed daily, cursing myself out for having so many plants. I need hostas!...See MoreI got so much good advice I'm posting another question on flooring
Comments (4)"Soooo, my actual question is, is it fair to the builder to ask him to do business with a big box store that may not have the quality other vendors do? Gosh knows, F & D sells a heck of a lot of tile." Why are you asking us? Ask the BUILDER. Who undoubtedly will NOT say yes to any big box. and unless this is a very custom build ( guess not ) will not allow a change from his supplier. Any of them. Your builder builds homes for one reason only: To PROFIT. And as much as he can while remaining competitive. You have two threads going. You signed on with a builder. Did you not read the fine print? Your builder is at best, semi custom. You get to select WITHIN his limited range of suppliers and the selections within those suppliers. This.......IIS COMMON, AND IT IS not IN ANY WAY "CUSTOM BUILD" You have two threads, and one is better. A new question ? You add it in the comments of the thread you began....See More- 5 years agolast modified: 5 years agolucillle thanked carolb_w_fl_coastal_9/10
