I got a new pot today too. UPS just delivered. I've been looking (with limited shopping opportunities other than online with the Covid) for two months for a replacement 3 1/2 quart lidded pot. Mine was vintage Circulon with flaking non stick interior, I felt like I was feeding it to us. To fit nicely in my pots and pans drawers, it HAD to have stock pot style double handles and not one long one. Very few to be found of quality. I got a Breville Thermal Pro today in 4 qt size. I've washed it, brought a few cups of water to a boil in it to see how it plays with my glass topped stove and its going to be good.

I love it.

But, a pink pumpkin would be weird.

It would make an interesting shaped cake.

Well,a cast iron pumpkin is weird. So, might as well go all the way dont ya think?!??! ;op

Duncan is lovely, though I agree he might clash with all those blue pinks. Maybe you need to get some peachy pinks to keep him company? I'll keep my eyes peeled. :)

I have a Le Creuset pumpkin, the same orange as other pots I have. By looks, I think it's a bit taller. 2 qt. I've been baking bread in it. It makes posy shaped loaves. :) I also have a giant pumpkin tureen set in the Majolica style, and little orange individual ceramic covered pumpkin dishes. And stuffed velvet pumpkins on the bench in the entry. I don't love pumpkins as much as you love pink hearts, but they're a favorite. :)

I have not seen them for a couple of years but a local grower provided a light dusky pink pumpkin to the grocery that I used to go to. There were two sizes a mini and one that was between 2-3 pounds. They were wider than they were tall and looked very plump.

Plllog, I actually do NOT like orange at ALL generally. But I just couldn't resist this guy. And the orange is acceptable because he is,after all, a pumpkin. I will have lots of fun cooking in the fall with him.

I have a deep love for ridiculous things,as well as pink and hearts. I would really prefer him to be pink, but I love him as he is as since he is so silly and yet completely useful so therefore justified! He is a 5 quart,same as my pink one so will be used a lot!

Oooo, I have LOTS of pink le creuset heart shaped cookware. And Chantal. And a pink cuisinart ceramic pie dish that I love. Lots and lots and lots. And I use it all joyfully!!!!

I've seen the pink pumpkins at farmers' markets. They called them "Cinderella" pumpkins.

I love Duncan... He's very cute!

The most striking, unexpected pumpkins I've seen are blue. I saw a magazine spread of them, so pretty placed with the traditional orange for contrast. I didn't get to any of the better farmers markets or specialty stores to look last year, found only a couple at the grocery and they weren't well colored, just tinged blue, kind of one sided. Maybe this year, they'd be pretty on my dark brown porch with gray slate entrance.

*ETA: We should start a Duncan fan club. Amy, we want pictures of the first thing you cook using him.

Duncan is very handsome. I thought of you, amylou, when I was in Cracker Barrel and saw some pink kitchen accessories.

Duncan would fit in very well with my Fiesta Ware, in case he has to move over for something else pink!!!

I have wanted that cocotte for years. We are a large family, so it's a bit on the small side for our needs, but I really, really love pumpkins. Hmm ... maybe I should consider buying one after all, the nest will be emptying once Covid is over.

Staub has had a sale running through most stores for the last few months. I bought a 7 quart standard shaped one in blue. Free delivery from most, mine arrived in 3 days. I think I too used Williams Sonoma.

It's quite stunning and solid and is a pleasure to use. I was impressed with how solid and effective the (likely factory-done) packaging was, for such a heavy item.

You bet!!! Amylou, I also have an orange Staub Duncan the Punkin. Mine came from Crate and Barrel some years ago. You will enjoy having it! My original set of Le Creuset was a wedding gift in 1977...all a pumpkin color. Not my choice now but I do use the pots/pans for Fall.

I always think of you now when I see pink cookware. :-)

Lol. Cute pumkin pot. You would have loved my little old house in the hills. We built it ourselves and I was so depressed down there that I painted the walls light yellow and all the ceilings cotton candy pink. If I dig up a picture, I'll post it this weekend.

I am not sure how i decide what gets named and what doesn't to be honest......

And while i love pink everything, I am also a huge sucker for fall and winter and the holidays in those seasons. My kitchen will be decorated with fall stuff and then Christmas themed things in their season. Then, back to all pink, all the time.
