Need advice hanging mirrors
Comments (2)Your Home Depot will sell heavy duty mirror mounting hardware (hooks) for your walls that can handle "tons" of weight. Weigh your mirror after it is assembled and buy the appropriate ones. They have many sizes available depending on the weight they will carry. Most of the heavy duty ones are triangle in shape and use 3 or 4 nails. I would personally avoid the installation method that uses one wall hook and a horizontal cable between the two vertical frame members on your mirror (like you would find on most paintings). A more heavy duty method is to install a ring on each vertical frame member that loops over its own wall hook. It is more secure and you share the mirror weight on two wall hooks. One caution, using the 2 wall hook method, you need to be "dead on perfect" on your placement of all your hardware because you cannot adjust it like the cable method that allows you to reposition. The rings attached to the mirror get placed over the wall hook, and that is it. If you are off, the mirror will be crooked, and you need to move around your hardware....See MoreNeed Advice regarding LED lighted mirrors
Comments (5)How many lumins will your fixture put out? I just did 2 bathrooms over that last 3 years. In one bathroom the light is great and my lumins = 3000 for my 6.5x9 foot room, with a nice sized window and whitish decor. Even at night it is nice and bright. In the other bathroom that is about 8x9.5 feet I have 6400 lumins that I calculate and it is a little dimmer than the other BR. The room is a bit darker with walnut trim and doors, so that might have something to do with it. I would go for light other than the type of light if you can. The vanity light isn't on all that much during the day, but you will want bright light for makeup and shaving. To clarify the last paragraph. I would try to get the lumins I need, rather then only looking at the type of light. Because the vanity light isn't on but a few minutes a day, and bright light at the vanity is a must....See MoreNew tv console, love it!! But need some advice around it.
Comments (6)Nice console. If you choose to add additional art, keep the tops of the frames of the art you hang highest either equal with or below the top of the pass thru window. A single rectangular box shelf made with shelving boards that is the same width of the tv and painted the same white as the console could be hung above the console and a pair of floating white shelves could be hung beside the tv -- one beneath each of two pieces of art (preferably in matching frames) hung on each side of the tv. The three white shelving pieces could link the three items of interest. https://www.homedit.com/box-shelves/...See Moreneed a lighting advice for pendant in front of mirror
Comments (1)IMo you have enough stuff going on already take some of that decor away first then a really simple pendant if you must but I think it will just add to the busyness of the mirror and reflection you already have , maybe just a nice flush mount fixture instead.I don’t know what you mean by using it for entertaining as far as the console is concerned you certainly have no room for anything there now....See MoreSammy
