"Could you frame out the larger mirror in wood trim and stain to match new mirror so that it would be a mirror then a mirror?" ThatÂs what I was thinking about doing. I wanted to solve the technical problems first, of how to hang, and the aesthetic issue, of would it look right in the first place. I stained other oak shelves in the room to match the vanity, so could do that. (The craftsman mirror is not oak, like the vanity, though: I think it is rubberwood. If I framed the big one I would have to use oak, but could probably get it to match well enough.) Assuming the cables are attached to screws in the studs over the big mirror, I could conceal that, maybe, by having the wood trim on the big mirror pass over that, with a small hollow in the back. The big mirror goes almost wall to wall on the sides, and right up to the round base of the light fixture above, so if I framed it out, whatever I did would have to float on the surface of the mirror and be adhered with glue.

This does not precisely answer your question ... but we chose not to spend the money on a built-in wine fridge on the new construction we just finished. It certainly was in the plans from the outset to be built into a hutch-style pantry cabinet. But, when all the appliance expenses started mounting, we decided just to continue to use the free-standing wine chiller that we already had. We have a rather large and funky shaped under-stairs closet immediately adjacent to the hutch cabinet, so we decided to stash the freestanding chiller in there and now we jokingly call the closet our "wine cellar." We drink a lot of wine, so having a chiller is a must for us, but we couldn't justify the expense of a built-in model. Another consideration for us was that we feared a wine chiller may be a dated look. The hutch is a beautiful piece in and of itself and we didn't want 15 years down the road to hear comments like, "Oh, what a shame ... that beautiful cabinet must have been built in the 2000s ... remember when everyone was putting in those wine fridges!" Is the vanity in an alcove? If so, mirror the entire alcove and have the glass company cut the mirror for mounted sconces on the mirror. You could also do this if there's no adjacent walls or one wall, and you may have to. You have 38" to fit a mirror and two sconces (countertop overhangs an inch or so). I would want at least 3" between the sconce shade and mirror and the sconce and the wall, so 3" + 3" + width of sconce. I have a 24" mirror over a 36" vanity, which is a fine size for the mirror, but that leaves only 7" for a sconce between the mirror and wall. If you used a smaller than 24" mirror, the sconces might be too close together. I read that 30" - 36" is the optimal spacing for sconces. I always draw this stuff up on graph paper to check spacing and proportions.

I have a 38" wide powder room. Either mirror width is fine, but I'd go with the 30" height when using an overhead light. Mine is 19" x 26" and I can see from the waist up. I think a three light will provide more light than you need in a powder room. I have one with 75 watt bulbs over a 36" vanity in my guest bath as my only light. You might just need a lower wattage bulb. The double lights look odd to me, so I'd look at the bath bar style of lighting if your mirror is a rectangle.
