Help with light fixture for home office

I like the style of this linear chandelier. If I go with the old bronze finish it's greatly reduced in price. For the other light fixtures in the home I'm thinking black. Our office is to the left, off the foyer when you walk in the front door so somewhat secluded. 9' Ceiling. The wall without windows will have a board and batten treatment and was thinking painting that wall SW Peppercorn. The other walls possibly painted SW Colonnade Gray. White trim. Hardwood floors. When sitting at the desk, my back will be to the wall without windows. I like transitional, modern farmhouse, eclectic for style (my best guess). I know you can mix metals, but would this work if other fixture are black?

fyi you posted the same link twice, 2nd I think that fixture is hugly over priced and you can get the same look for much less than that.

lastly that fixture will not give you good working light, if that is what you need, if not im not sure when you would use it since its more decorative than anything. To me this room is all about the windows and view I would not even hang a ceiling fixture rather have some really cool lamps.the ceiling doesnt appear that tall. but it might be the angle.

A lot depends on the style of the room. The one above leans more traditional. We have a vaulted tray ceiling in DH's office and the room is very traditional with lots of cherry wood and leather, so we put in a chandelier. Depending on ceiling height, you may be able to use a semi flush mount which I think are far more attractive than flush mounts. The ceiling fixtures that I hate are the ones that look like a woman's breast. DH has no trouble with them (wonder why) but I think they are awful. You also want to think about how much light you will need for the size of the room. That will determine how many and what size bulbs you need. Like it or not, for bright light, energy efficiency from a single fixture, you can't beat fluorescent lighting....in my craft room I have 3 large ones. But that room was designed all around function first.

Got the fixture up but had to stop because one of the "thousand" glass balls is broken, so will have to call to get a replacement ball before we can continue assembling it. When we bought this light we also bought another light for the laundry room. It is one of those flush LED fixtures. Paid $39 at Costco, saw the exact same light at one of the big box stores (Rona) today and it was priced at $66! What a great save at Costco.

Well, we ordered our coach lights today. We will soon order some for the back of the house. Here is what we chose. I appreciate the assistance given. The one below is for the front of the house. It is in oil rubbed bronze -- much browner than in the picture. We ordered two larger ones to go beside the front door, and 3 medium ones (2 on either side of garage door, an one at the garage man door). We concluded that we need coach lights that did not extend too far (not deep ones), so we had to go a different direction. These lights have built in LED lights. The lights are made by Artcraft. Here is the ones we are ordering for the back of the house. There are 4 total along the back which is all one plane (not jogs out).

Thank you RL for pointing out that the same link was posted for both lights. I corrected that in the original post and added the ceiling height (9'). The ceiling is wired for a light in addition to the recessed lights. When I work, I like a lot of overhead light. I wondered if the possible other option (black and gold light) would give much light, thanks for the clarification.

the 13 light would give lots of light but the gold and brass will not.

does it hang in the center of the room or over the desk?

The light will hang in the center of the room and most likely over the desk. The room is 12x12.
