I would go with a white tile that works with your countertop, but I find the arabesque shape too busy and traditional for your cabinets, and would not use a contrasting grout as the cabinets are already busy. Not a fan of the second ones colors but I don't mind the repetition of the stripe. I think these cabinets benefit from a slab installation if you can afford that route.

I actually like the arabesque tile with the sleeker more modern cabinets. I think it would look best if there wasn't too much contrast with the grout color though.

@simplechoices, thank you for the advice. I will look into it! My countertop is white with marbling on the top. (See pic below) What do you think of a white subway tile in a form of herringbone or a sideways herringbone? Or would that be too busy? (See pic below) As for contrasting grout, I was thinking of a warm gray that contrasts just a small bit but doesn't fully stand out. (see pic below)

Thank you! I thought these cabinets look amazing in person so I decided to go with that! Lots of houses in my area are using those as well! The showroom's backsplash was just some white squares with a black diamond in the middle. It didn't really look that good so I didn't go with that.

They are modern how about googling modern kitchens for inspiration. In my opinion the arabesques aren’t the right choice for your sleek look.

inwould look at glass subway tikes but using 3x 12 rather than traditional 3x6.

@Jack L I found a slab door similar to what you have posted and took the counter-top image from your post above and paired it with some possible tiles. I strongly recommend matching the grout to the tile because both the door and the counter have prominent patterns. you seem to want an interesting backsplash but this can go wrong, so easily by becoming too busy. You really do need white on white. I think a diagonal line would really look too busy. My favorite look by far with this would be to continue the slab, but if that is not an option, subway tile in a straight line pattern is better than diagonal (there is stacked, running bond, etc). I do find that the white on white dimensional tile might be a great option for you, with white grout. I googled white dimensional tile and found the 2 below. The one on the bottom left can be laid with a flat tile in between the dimentional for a different pattern. One thing that you need to watch for is the overall base white color match to the counter-top. White is not white and if that match is not good, it will forever bother you and you may not realize why, it will just look wrong.

I agree with the above posts. The example pic of the arabesque tile shows a traditional cabinet door. Yours is a sleek modern slab door with a horizontal pattern. Your counter has veining. Two distinct patterns. Adding a third pattern will likely result in a busy rather than cohesive look. A running bond tile pattern is a good idea if you want to go with a subway tile (horizontal lines) as is a slab backsplash (be it the counter or a glass backsplash - no third pattern). Contrasting grout, regardless of tile pattern, adds another pattern dimension as well.

I’d do a white subway tile, stacked horizontally, with either a white or a very light gray grout. 3” x 12” would be a nice size. Do not choose a white tile that is warmer than your countertop- you need to get a sample to check the color. The grout should not be warmer than the gray veining in your counter. Laticrete Silver Shadow might be a good grout color. Don’t go too dark with the grout- it will look more prominent on the wall than you think from looking at the grout color chart.

The arabesque tile would be an odd choice with your modern cabinets, and the skinny horizontal tile of varying lengths is a very dated look.
