Backsplash - Help pick from these 3 choices
Comments (44)In the lighting in this second set of pictures, the backsplash and granite look quite different than in round one. Now I really don't care for numbers one and two...they seem to have too much brown/tan in them, while the color of the floor seems perfect...more grey/taupe. I don't think I would be happy with the large format of the floor tiles though. I'd either see about getting them cut or finding something very close in tones, but in a smaller tile. And yes, I would definitely do something different behind the range and perhaps as an accent in the backsplash. I still love the darker glass and marble choice as an accent, and would prefer it to the minibricks of the floor...don't want to be too matchy....See MoreHelp me pick my backsplash mural size, Please!
Comments (18)>hould I make the mural smaller (20 x 16) and use a wider border/frame or go larger (24 x 18) with the mural and use a thinner border/frame? That depends. Was there a subtle color in the image you could use for the border? I don't think I'd like it with a significant color like purple or green, but if there was a shaded light tone you could get in the mini subways, I'd do the deeper border. Actually, personally, I'd do a smaller image and a deeper border (of some other sort, like double frame effect in your picture but using a plain time in between instead of the leaves if you don't like them) in any case. I don't like the wine bottles, myself--they look too much like a photo transfer rather than a hand painted effect....See MorePlease help me pick a backsplash! (pics)
Comments (12)Herb ~ I thought about using an accent behind the cooktop but I'm not sure I like them! I really like the diamond too. Philo ~ I'll look at the waterjet tile tonight, thanks for the link! The cabinets were custom made by a local shop. I went with a 3" stile and rail and absolutely love the look. The leathered steel grey is even better in person ;) Barncatz ~ The first thing I learned on Houzz... everything looks better with your pet in the pic! Great idea about grouting the sheets... I wonder if they sell small samples? The convex tile was purchased at Arizona Tile and it's priced really well so using that would save me a ton! We put it up horizontally and vertically, I like it horizontal. H202 ~ Do you like the marble subway or the plain tile? Nosoccer ~ I love the look of that light grey grout. Mayflowers ~ Would the white diamond be too much pattern or should I be looking at texture vs color?...See MoreHelp me pick a backsplash!
Comments (34)Thanks for everyones help! It's been a long road.....we had to move out for a bit to finish up. @Romy718- you are amazing, thank you! I will post a photo when completed! Here are some tile choices. I like white and am terrified to do anything else. Here are my options: ( just look at the 2x8 tile as we are not doing the marble).Left one is a handmade/painted tile.Right is machine made. It will look stacked and have some dimension when installed to give it some texture/character....See Moresalex
