Do you wear gardening gloves???
Comments (15)Hi guys. I just wanted to drop my 2 cents on the gardening gloves. My husband buys gloves online from a company called A.S.A. Corp. They are a safety company that sells all types of gloves, safety glasses, etc. They are manufacturers and there prices are much better than Lowes or HD or any other store ive seen. I bought 6 pairs of pig skin gloves with white fleece lining from them. Now I had to call them because they dont list that particular glove but I paid 5.00 for them as compared to $12.00. Check out the link below. Here is a link that might be useful: safety supplies for all working environments...See MoreWhere do you work when the body wears out?
Comments (11)"When your body is worn out"..... humm. We don't think it will ever happen to us until it actually heppens, but it sure does happen - it's inevitable. I was hopping around a squash court only about 5 or 6 year ago, but now at 65, getting on a treadmill only for 30 min. daily is a big deal. Once you get over the hill, down slope seems to get increasingly steeper.... ;-( Since we accumulate knowledge and become wiser through experience, it is natural that we pass them on to less experienced people. Or, we may become smart enough to hire people to have them do most of physical labor. There are few more choices I can think of; One is to establish nichey expertise. One good xample is my wife. she is specialized in prunine Japnese maple tree. She mastered it through experience and self-learning, and become a real master. And, she is expensive now. (Come to think of it, she has always been expensive.... haha). Another choice is what I am doing - to introduce something new. If you go and look at this Forum ÂÃ Professional ÂÃ Irrigation ÂÃ Electrolysis Water Agriculture, you will see one project I am introducing now. There are so many things we don't know in this world; every country has its own unique things and method. It is a real fun to introduce new things, and when and if it turns into a business, it would be even better....See MoreWould you wear, or do you wear?
Comments (38)I hate hats too and living in SD there are times in the winter when I need one but my head itches so bad I cant stand them. As for hair extensions, no I wouldnt. I would never spend that kind of money on it for one thing and it would drive me nuts when my head itches like it does all the time. I worked with a girl who had them. She was half white and half black. She spent a lot of money to have them put in. This was when she was in high school. Then she couldnt afford to have themmaintained so you could always see the little rubber band things in her hair and it really looked stupid. Now she is attending hairdresser college and she has them in again and I still dont like them.So NO not for me....See MoreWhat do you wish you knew when you first started gardening?
Comments (32)That drought-resistant shrubs and trees in SoCal need undisturbed native soil to establish symbiotic relationships with soil fungi to truly go unwatered for 6 months of the year. Mycorrhizae don't typically need to be bought at a nursery, but all our yards sure need it to be in the soil for plants to do their best through summer/fall. Xeric plants need to get established, then they seem to do best when largely left alone, with not much more than some mulch, compost teas in the rainy season and light pruning to thrive. Masanobu Fukuoka foresaw this in One Straw Revolution (a book as radical in some ways as anything else the 70s had to offer) when he advocated abandoning modern ag methodologies, especially tilling, focusing instead on preserving soil food web ecologies in the topsoil. I doubted it for years, but modern soil science and my experiences sure have made me a believer in it...See Morenicholsworth Z6 Indianapolis
