Blinds? Curtains? What to do for this wide window?
Comments (20)We have a 57" x 95" slider window in our bedroom which has Hunter Douglas top down/bottom up cellular shades for privacy and view. The cells do provide excellent heat and cold protection. It is a big window for a corded shade, but it doesn't appear that you need the privacy of top down and could do a bottom up cordless shade. We have a cordless shade on our patio slider and that's much easier to lift and lower. On window and slider we also have drapery panels, and because our windows have no moldings, we used a valance to cover the bare top of the window. We have the same window in the LR with plantation shutters. It's a four-piece shutter so the side shutters fold back. They add window casing for the shutters to attach to, so it gives you a finished window. I like Butternut's shades because it would cover the top of your window and hide the lack of molding. Note on Beagle's and Butternut's windows that there's casing between the windows so they can do three separate shades, but I don't think that works for our kind of windows....See MoreWhat kind of blinds/window coverings for these windows?
