Any watercolor artists at the KT?
Comments (38)Jemdandy, funny you should mention Donna Dewberry. The woman is practically a conglomerate! She's really done well with her "One-Stroke" technique. I have some of her brushes and a couple of her books, but never put in the time necessary to master it. I'm a little ambivalent about the look; that could be part of it. I watched her in action for the first time the other night on TV and was impressed, though. Surprised to see her sit down at the sewing machine after painting. I didn't know she was a quilter. Susan, I'd be a quilter if I hadn't discovered rug hooking. Once I did, I gave up embroidery, needlepoint, and everything else. :-) I've done some enamel painting on wine glasses and martini glasses and assorted glass dishes, etc. Would eventually like to do more decorative painting with acrylics. GW has a nice Decorative Painting forum. As for watercolors, I'm so well-equipped that I'll feel consumed with guilt if I don't give it a good try. I've been using AC Moore and Michael's coupons to acquire brushes, paints, and paper, plus a professional illustrator recently gave me watercolor brushes and some fabulous French papers. I'm saving the latter until I know what I'm doing. I found some decent 140-lb. watercolor paper at Ollie's Bargains--cheap because it's slightly bent. It'll be perfect for my practice strokes. This thread has me psyched! It's exciting to see the art and read the encouraging posts. And the Wet Canvas site threatens to completely undermine my already shaky housekeeping....See MoreSubject lines that tell us nothing about the subject
Comments (42)Neither I nor anyone else suggested that, Glenda. In fact, I was careful to say I didn't want to criticize. With that in mind, Suzieque's post was well said. I don't recall seeing the "Pet Peeves" thread, but I'll hazard a guess that some of the things that annoy some people are not a source of annoyance to others. And, as Suzieque said, most annoyances are not big things. But of course that doesn't stop them from being annoying . . . to some. I guarantee that those of us who do find those teaser subject lines annoying (just annoying, mind you--we're not tearing out our hair or spiking our blood pressure or making demands) have plenty of small stuff that we don't sweat. And I'm pretty certain that those who claim to have learned not to react to little things have something (some small thing) they find irritating as hell....See MoreEmbarrassing subject - incontinence?
Comments (30)Drop those bags at the front door lock it and then race to the john??? I've worn a pad (stayfree anykind except the little flimsy ones) for years. I also pin the front end to the panty so they don't drop out on to the floor somewhere. Just making sure I change them a lot and keep doggie doodoo bags to put them in in the bathroom trash. I like to shoot a spray of some kind of fem deo spray around the panty area too. (for my own peace of mind) I'm also trying not to drink a lot at night say from 8pm on no sodas teas etc. I use Biotene for dry mouth so sometimes just a drop or two of that will moisten my mouth. As long as you can go undected it's ok out in public. I think men have the same problem but don't talk about it/. I want to mention that if you get any little sores on your bum/ cheeks/ rear= end because of whatever - a good product to have on hand is "no sting spray on bandage". a few rub-ons of it makes a protective coating and they will heal faster saddle sores. . . ....See MoreLook what I found out bout the KT and our postings
Comments (22)You can also just Google ThatHomeSite, your user name or Garden Web and all of your postings come up. I thought everyone knew if they posted something here that it wasn't private. I don't know about private boards like the Meeting House if those posts show up or not. If I can see what you posted so can everyone else who wants to see it or look for whatever else you have posted just by Googling your screen name. I guess that is why we don't use our surnames here. I don't have anything to hide and if someone wants to read what I posted I don't really care. Maybe they will learn something from us all. Anne...See More- 6 years ago
