Can CMU block be filled with foam?

I need to find the right spray foam for a project I have. I have a basement where water leaks in on one wall at the very bottom block. I know from excavating the outside of a different corner of the house that the water runs into the concrete blocks (cmu) from missing mortar droppings on the outside of the concrete block (the home was built in 1930). Excavating this side of the house is not an option. What foam can I use that will fill the cavities of the concrete block? I know there’s closed cell, open cell and core foam. I know the foam isn’t a waterproofing agent but I am hoping it would atleast fill the gaps of missing mortar to prevent the cavities from filling up with water. I do plan on using ‘Sani Tred‘ to coat/waterproof the interior portion of the basement walls but figured I could go the extra mile by trying to fill the cavities.
