Living Room decor/color help please!
Comments (43)Charley Lovely home & LR I am peaking into ? sitting room - are there 2 matching bergere style chairs in there? hmmmm - can you put them flanking the FP in close to the hearth Try one of the 2 chairs you just brought in by the window to balance out that area - corner where the plant is sitting. I think your choices are lovely coral - sage, but not sure together & with the rug - the rug is reading gold toned with sage, navy accents - & I think it may fight your fabric choices. The current ottoman just blends right into the rug - so light fabric choices may do the same. I would rec obtaining samples placing them in the room before making decisions about fabrics. Thanksgiving is just a week away - that is a huge undertaking to be doing all this upholstering by then. In the rush you may make hasty decisions that don't necessarily work. If you plan to re-do the sofa - I would choose that fabric first - although it looks in good condition & picks up on the green in the rug. Perhaps some nice throw pillows with navy there. Some quick random picks - http://www.fabricguru.com/cart/index.php?target=products&product_id=215412 http://www.fabricguru.com/cart/index.php?target=products&product_id=218082 http://www.fabricguru.com/cart/index.php?target=products&product_id=274742&page= Is this room used as a daily family room for TV watching, will everyone be in there?...See MoreNeed help with living room decor. Comments (5)I would start out with a large, beautiful rug in warm colors (terracotta or red Oriental rug mixed with other colors. I feel sectionals often confine you in how to organize your room. I would choose a fabric couch in a neutral, not too dark color (not gray, which is on its way out and not a warm color), and add two chairs in a different color or at least a different material and style. Try to keep the height of these pieces similar. Two end tables in wood (they don't have to be the same, but make sure the heights are fairly similar and a metal and glass coffee table would look great, with table lamps or floor lamps even if you have overhead lighting, which is always harsh. Pick colors from the rug for pillows and you'll have a beautifully coordinated living space. Books, good paintings and some tall plants will add warmth and personality to your room. People too often don't add these elements and then wonder why their rooms look bare and cold. This may be more colorful than you want to go. and this is a small rug because there is carpeting underneath, but it gives you the idea of neutral furniture and how it can be made more lively with accessories, pillows, coffee table styling etc....See MoreHelp me decorate my living room - Desperate help needed!
Comments (51)Hello friends. I am afraid I need your help once again! We have finally settled on a new sofa, accent chairs and the place we are getting all of this from has agreed to also throw in a rug for us if I happen to like one from their suppliers. I fell in love with a rug they have as well as accent pillows I think will match well. We have also decided on the color of the accent chairs and the model of the sofa. My issue : I CANNOT decide on a sofa color!!! Everyone is telling me to do light grey but I am afraid it won't go with the rug I like. I am swayed towards a white sofa (it is more off white, I will post a picture of the swatch bellow) in order to flow with my chairs and everything else. I had spoken to the designer who did our plan and she said I can go with a white sofa no problem. Everyone is saying do light grey. I know I can pick another rug but I am SO In love with the one I have chosen and I think it will make the space... Can anyone advise me on what to do? I do like a light grey sofa but I also really like the colors in the rug...We have to order this week in order to make it in time for Christmas and I am very undecided. You have all been so helpful and if you aren't utterly sick of me, I would appreciate the advice! Here is the link to the sofa we have chosen: https://mikazahome.ca/product/sevan/ We will get the 89 inch modification sofa with a 9 inch arm on one side (you can see example in the photos) and a 5 inch on the other end. Legs will be like in the second photo on the side. Here is a swatch of the white that we had chosen (ignore the leather, it is the material swatch next to it). Photo of the accent chair: Photo of the rug: Accent pillows: We are also hesitating for the accent chairs - there is another chair we like but it is not as much of a good quality as the one above. I will insert a photo here - feel free to let me know which one would be better. In other words, which chairs? Which color sofa? Do I go with light gray sofa and change the rug or go with off white sofa? Thank you!...See MoreDecor help- living room and dining room
Comments (1)An observation: the chandelier in the dark room doesn’t work with the sputnik one. Something like this light would work. Rectangular in shape, so great for over the table, and the same metal as the sputnik. Assuming the dark room is the dining room, then bring that color into the living room with a sofa in that color. Art can be whatever you love, and considering It is a playroom, something fun would be appropriate....See MoreEleftheria Nikolaou
