The Sunrise Vanguard is an excellent window and definitely the best designed out of that group.

I am in the Denver area and am also in the process of getting bids. I had 5 new Amerimax installed four years ago and so far I am happy with the way they are holding up.

My quote for 6 additional windows Anlin Catalina came in at $6200 and I will be getting a quote using Amerimax next week.

@dvigil3The problem is Amerimax got bought. I'm skeptical on whether they going to continue this brand in couple years or not. Otherwise I totally would lean toward Amerimax.

@Victor Wilcox I ended up buying Sunrise. For my quote, it's 22k after negotiation with another installer. I'm still waiting for the installation due to the pandemic caused delays. However, I recall my old house used Amerimax and those windows are fine. Personally, I haven't seen an Anlin window as they are new here in Colorado. I've heard good comments about Amerimax and Sunrise. I will update after my windows installed.

I am going through this process right now too. I believe the issue with Anlin is that they are now farming out several of the components of their window. Even if Amerimax is bought, i believe the new owner (Cascade) would honor any warranty. Like others, I also had a quote from Renewal By Anderson -- the cost of a really nice car. The product was certainly nice -- definitely nicer than anything we saw. But we went with Amerimax and will use the balance for several nice vacations. :-) I believe that Amerimax first started out in Loveland. $9500 for 15 windows. Plus, upgraded screens.

What did you end up doing? I live in Denver and am being told Amerimax windows are best because they are manufactured at this altitude, and so the argon stays stable.

We ended up with Restoration, which is Sunrise windows. We like the look of that one better.

I suppose you get this argon thing from EDI or some other local dealers. What they are stating is true. The argon would stay in between the glass comparing to other companies.

However, that won't impact much. Because as long as 80% of argon can stay in between the glasses, it will perform very close to their claimed performance. I personally don't think that performance matters too much after the installation. It won't be a significant change unless your existing window is really bad.

So my opinion is, in the end of the day, the new windows would perform pretty much the same after installation for same product levels across brands.

I would consider which window looks better with your house. If it is 2-7/16 then Amerimax would be better as the window box would not be touched. If it is 3 1/4 then go with the better choice.

Also there are companies offering slim designs window frames which would give a narrow looking of frames to be a more modern looking. You can get previous customer addresses from the contractors to see which ones looks better with those windows.

Thank you so much for your reply. Actually, the installation is a 6' sliding door and one small fixed window, replacing 42-year-old ones, so probably anything would be better than what we have. The door is in the kitchen on the north side of the house, and the room gets very cold. Neither opening is visible from the street, nor in relation to other windows. . Lowest quote is on Vinylmax, several neighbors have them and are happy. Next lowest is Amlin, liked the dealer, Then Softlight, havent met the dealer. . Any other comments from you would be welcome, I've had difficulty finding timely information. .

@HU-437821211 I think Anlin and Soft-lite are the two other brands you are mentioning. One of our neighbor used Soft-lite and they are happy. But it's also going to be more expensive though.

Anlin is a California brand just expanded to Colorado. So I only know much as you.

Given the fact you are doing a sliding door and a fixed window, I think you would get the same performance for any brands because it's a door and a fixed window. The glasses won't do much difference across different brands. I would go with whatever looks good and affordable in my opinion.

We went with Douglas Enterprizes. They are very small group of people. For the grids I think Sunrise will charge extra for the premium ones so you shall confirm with your contractor before ordering them.
