Ruvati RVC2384 Stainless Steel Kitchen Sink and Stainless Steel Faucet
Comments (4)You mean the Ruvati Roma sink RVH8350? The RVC model is a bundle of the same sink with a Ruvati faucet. Yes, Ruvati sinks are exceptional quality. I have been using a Ruvati Gravena sink for almost 3 years now. Solid sink: very heavy and thick. I don't have the Roma model with ledges for accessories, but for $469 thats a great deal for a 16 gauge sink with built-in cutting board and colander. Quality-wise Ruvati sinks are just as good as any major stainless steel sink brand like Kohler or Elkay....See MoreBest brand for stainless steel kitchen sink
Comments (18)As stated above, Franke makes terrific sinks. Have had mine almost four years now. The corners have rounded cutouts so it’s easy to chase bits of food, into the drain. Mine has an offset center drain, meaning it’s in the center rear of the sink, so large pots or pans don’t cover it. With any stainless sink, I recommend getting a stainless rack, which will help avoid scratching, and raises the dirty dishes, and allows the water to drain. Most have racks that are made for a particular sink. I got my Franke grid on Amazon....See MoreKitchen sink: silgranit or stainless steel
Comments (18)“how do I know whether it will rust or not?” Rust in a stainless steel sink is caused by something left on the sink’s surface that is itself rusting, not the sink. It could be a metal spatula or a can. Or it is frequently from people who use steel wool pads to clean their SS sinks, which should not be used. Steel wool pads leave behind tiny particles of metal which rust, not the sink. Also it has been reported on this forum that if your water has a lot of iron in it, when that water dries in the sink, the iron in the water shows up as rusty coloration. All of this can be easily cleaned with Barkeepers Friend and a sponge. Do not leave Barkeepers Friend to sit in the sink. Sprinkle it in the sink, then wipe with a wet sponge and rinse. I like a sink with an offset corner or side drain, like I had with the BlancoDiamond Silgranit Super Single. For SS, Kraus makes good 16 gauge SS sinks with an offset drain. An offset drain allows you to set larger things in the sink without covering the drain, and leaves more space under the sink since the plumbing is off to the side. Comments (15)I have the sink you are considering - I read all the reviews on many 30 inch under mount sinks before buying it. I’m happy with the sink after about two months of heavy use. We are using the grid and we haven’t noticed scratches. There’s no rust and sometimes we aren’t careful about wiping down the sink. The water drains fine, no problems there. But we do have trouble with stubborn scraps of food not going down the drain and we end up chasing them around with the sprayer. This has made me wonder if it has to do with how the sink and garbage disposal were installed-is there enough “give” in the stainless steel that it could have been installed with more of a slope? Anyway, this is solved by lifting the grate and wiping down the sink. Not a big deal....See Morejulieste
