Plain mirror vs mirror medicine cabinet above a Ikea double-bowl sink
Comments (5)Can you mock up what the mirror and vanity will look like - use some painters tape to indicate where in the room the vanity will end and then outline the various choices of mirror/mirror cabinets. You might be surprised at how some work better than others. With the Kohler Verdera 101cm (40") by 76cm (30") medicine cabinet, it doesn't matter if it's 7" shorter than the sink - what matters is if you are using the sink to wash up, and you look up - are you able to see yourself properly in the mirror? Comments (0)We purchased this cabinet: https://m.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/spr/89032601/ I thought the guy at Ikea told us we could buy any undermount sink up to 24 inches but from what I'm reading, it seems like I have to chop 3 inches off that and restrict it to 21inches max. Is that right? Thanks!...See MoreI need help finding a kitchen sink for a 24" base cabinet
Comments (6)Typically a 24" sink will fit in a 24" cabinet. The 24" measurement includes the flange and so the width you really need is usually about 22". Sink manufacturers will typically say it requires a 27" cabinet because the side clips need some room. Even an amateur can get around that. The clips hold the sink tight to the counter and keep it from moving, so you can install the front and back clips and just ignore the sides, the sink isn't going anywhere. If you want the sides for some reason you can notch out the cabinet sides and install the clips, it's not really that hard. You don't need straps for a drop-in sink. Straps support undermount sinks, flanges support drop-in sinks....See MorePatricia Colwell Consulting
