There's a picture of a floor of the tile on the Tesoro website, but it's not very good. I like it because it is a very subtle design. The person who told me it was a "cheap" tile was speaking to the quality of the tile itself, not the design variation. I considered a similar tile, but when I saw a picture of it installed it was too dramatic and busy for my taste. Will post pic when completed, but that's not till this fall.

Mongo, good stuff. Mfran, print his post and research it. The first an most important thing I did was to ensure square and plumb and had taken into account the thickness of the materials. Second thing was redundancy planning for water. I rebuilt my shower over studs after removing a 70s lathe style shower that leaked. The curb rotted. I used cement board over poly with surface applied redguard. Latex admix mortar bed over the epdm style pan. Latex admix thinset, Latex admix grout. Polyurethane structural adhesive at the drain pan connection because it expands slightly and is sticky like no other. I sifted drain stones with the old drain plate and a red solo cup. I put a little extra pitch in the mortar floor for good drainage speed. Ran the pan liner up a extra few inches for wicking protection. Stuff like that. Mongo was right about laying out the tile for the inset break. You may need to cut a stud, make a frame, if you want to use cement board or adjust something. Insets are easy, but they cannot flex and have more breaks to seal. Like mongo suggests, you may want to buy a premade one. I did surface in a tumbled marble because the boss wanted it that way. She cleans it with some kind of spray that suits her and a brush. Get a good accurate tile cutting setup. Best wishes

The TCNA standards that Mint Tile refers to will also address minimum acceptable mortar coverage for a wet area which is 95%. It appears spot bonding was used judging by the photo's which is never acceptable. The minimum 1/3 offset it also specified to minimize lippage on large format tiles. Large format is any tile with one edge over 15". The manufacturer often stamps this on the packaging. The Tile gallery designer may have steered you wrong and the installer is clearly not qualified. Keep in mind the manufacturer may say 50% offset is OK. That would take the designer off the hook but not the installer.
