I like the idea of a smaller tile on the floor so that the grout line provides added traction. The 2x2 trim, may be something you'd like on the walls but it might not lend itself to spacious open spaces. To me it will break up the space and make it look smaller, but I may be wrong. Have you gone to houzz yet as Babka suggested? There are millions and millions of bathroom pictures. Well maybe only 330,927, I just looked :) But there are so many, you will be able to narrow your search and find something that fits with what you have in mind and compare. Our master bath is exactly the same size as yours. My DH likes a well-lighted bathroom as he reads on the 'throne'. We have a double vanity with paired uplight fixtures, each with two lights. I use 40w bulbs in them; 60w was a bit too bright. Our walls/ceiling are ivory semi-gloss, so if I was using a darker paint I'd probably go with the 60w bulbs, or maybe mix each light fixture with one 40w and one 60w, for a total of 200w max. Again, these are uplights, which I like for the overall effect and more flattering light. We have the Panasonic WhisperWarm and use the nightlight fluorescent only (it's designed to take two bulbs, one for general lighting and one small fluorescent as a nightlight). Works very nicely, doesn't blind you at night when you need to fumble around in the medicine cab for an aspirin.

Thanks so much! I just finished the first of two bathrooms in a condo. The tiles (Daltile Veneziano) were uneven in thickness and had uneven edges. I did not realize when I ordered how this would impact the installation. The tiler had a tough time with installation and I had to make some decisions that I am not happy with. (Tile jutted out so vanity could not be fit tight against the tiled wall, so had to use short backsplash, etc etc) http://products.daltile.com/series.cfm?series=462 If only I had learned more from reading the great threads here, and asked questions before purchasing! The literature even specifies that the tile has irregular edges but I did not pay enough attention. So how does one learn, before purchasing, if the tiles are warped or bowed? Will this always be visible in the sample, and do most dealers divulge this to the buyer? Thanks so much!!
