Will strawberries recover from severe deer/rabbit damage?

I planted a new strawberry patch this spring. I had intended to install fencing to keep critters out, but COVID-19 finances got in the way. The plants got established nicely, and there are even many runners putting down roots, but then leaves started disappearing. The damage has progressed slowly, and I wasn’t too worried at first, but now there is barely a leaf left anywhere. I investigated fencing options yesterday, and found there is a severe shortage of materials, due to COVID-19.

What are the chances these plants will survive and return next spring? I ask so I can make plans to purchase replacements early this winter, if necessary. Hopefully, I will be able to rig up some fencing by then.
