WANTED: Allium - Purple Varities
Comments (0)I am not sure how this works but I would love some allium bulbs preferrably the Purple Sensation, but anything in the purple/white/pink variety. Beggers can't be choosers. I am new to gardening and all I have right now are columbine seeds. I have the following plants and if you are willign to instruct me on getting seeds etc... I'd be happy to try for you. It is probably more work than anyone is willing to do but I thought I give it a shot. Bleeding Heart, Columbine (purple/white), Delphinium Guariand Blue is what it is labeled but I think it is Aurora Blue & Guardian Lavender, Tall Becky Phlox, Allium drumstick (hot pink), Balloon Flowers, Campanula; I have tried to root these and am not sure how they will turn out, Evening Sisoko Primrose (pink)& touch of class....See MoreHAVE: White Allium Mount Everest 5 feet tall

Comments (4)In general, most allium foliage tends to deteriorate and look pretty ratty by the time the flowers appear. Especially for the summer and fall blooming varieties. I alway try to site alliums where the foliage will be hidden or obscured by other plants. Or just cut it off :-)) It is usually quite dried up by flowering time as well. About the only allium that I have encountered and that seems to retain good looking foliage all season is Allium karataviense....See MoreTall Phlox disease - can you ID it for me?
Comments (3)GardenHo's suggestion is perhaps supported by the following: Lower image: there are 4+ short but largely parallel lines on the top part of the leaf which is almost in the centre of the picture. The lines seem to be repeated on the top of a back leaf which is above and to the left of that one. There may also be (scrapes?) on the bottom of the leaf, below and immediately behind the central one. So is it really evidence of trauma!...See Moremaackia
