The large ones, as that is a large island. I would try different distances using 16" baloons on a string, to figure out what I liked best in the given space.

You need pendants with chain. and EXTRA chain and wire. Or the fixture must come with a pivot and the ability for additional stem or customization on the light order.. . It would help to know the highest ceiling elevation. A 126 inch island is not HUGE. You need nothing close to an 82 inch single fixture. It will take OVER : ) Three pendants, forcing light down onto the counter would be just fine. No wider than 15 inches if three and no more than 18 to 20 if two. . You can augment with recessed as well.

Hi Rachel Lindy Brady, The standard for Pendant lighting is 30 inches in-between each pendant with a height of 18 inches from counter top. You want to make sure its a t least 6 to 7 inches from the edge of island as well. That is standard but depending on the size of the pendant it will also effect the spacing as well if you stager them. Kelley - you’ll probably get lots of input here :) - my island is 5x10 (so a bit wider and a tad bit longer) but my pendants are “tiny” - but they’re our style (modern) and I’m sure some would say they’re too small. I say pick what you like!
