I was in Pottery Barn on Saturday to pick up some curtains and noticed this table since it looks so much like one that we have. I have to say that I was not impressed with the quality. My husband and I found ours at an antique mall in KCMO, covered with knick-knacks. It was being used as a display table. It is an old, heart pine harvest table- I have no idea how old, maybe 75 years old? We got it for $250 in 1996. That was a lot for us-we were a young couple with 4 small kids and he was in med school (translation- no $$). That table has lasted through toddlers and teenagers. And it is as sturdy and beautiful as it was the day we got it. The finish is a bit more worn than it was 16 years ago, but the wear has only added to the look, not diminished it. I don't think the PB table will do the same. Most of the case goods and tables that I have seen look pretty shabby after a few years of normal wear and tear. Once the finish is knicked or scratched, you can see the material underneath is not the same as the veneer. A good, old harvest table is usually made out of solid wood planking. Any scratches become part of the patina. Have you checked at any antique shops or malls where you live? I am a regular antique-r & there are lots of great looking harvest/primitive style tables out there for a good price that would be comparable if not much less expensive than what you'd pay at PB. You may have to search, but the quality is definitely worth it. You'll have an heirloom quality table that you can pass down when the time comes. My 20 year old has already got dibs on ours. :-)

An update to the above. The pottery barn website states (in the Q&A section) that the table top is smooth. Mine most definitely wasn't. Pottery barn has said they will refund me (including the shipping). It's so weird because other pictures online seem like the top is clearly smooth. I wonder if something changed about the finish??. I thought the legs might get in the way but they really didn;t and when extended six chairs easily fit. Anyways the table was basically perfect in every way... except that horrible, rough, plasticky, weird, sandpaper-rough finish on the top. If the top finish was normal it would be an awesome table. Sturdy and looked great. Oh well.

We have had a partial order of our Indio Metal Dining set and Lounge chairs delivered. (the rest is on backorder) While everything looks nice one of the Chaise lounge chairs and a couple of the dining chairs their legs do not all lign up and so there is a slight wobble to the chair. Both Chaise lounge chairs (not kept under the patio) have been rained on, while they look fine they are retaining water inside the aluminum construction of the chair. While i know aluminum does not rust, however aluminum can corrode over time. I am wondering if this is going to compromise the longevity of the chair? Again everything looks great, the quality of the product leaves us second guessing the purchase decision. Coming from a major designer/retailer like Pottery Barn this is a really big disservice to the customer confidence. i am looking forward to seeing how Pottery Barn addresses the situation. and here are a couple boring videos i took of the chair leaking water, the chairs are on their side and about 2 days after the last rain event. And yes the videos are like watching paint dry.. looks nice

Thanks for the reviews on PB teak, sounds iffy As much as I love natural wood maybe it's not a good choice for outdoor furniture in our climate, especially from PB. Think we're deciding to go with aluminum. We found a collection with nice styling that fits our "look", whatever that is!
