How to fill up this living room with furniture
Comments (8)Now seeing the rest of the space....I see you are dealing with an entry way there. Even just playing with your current couch and loveseat, what if you face the sofa towards the window with it's back to the entry and put the loveseat over on wall where the tv is angled and tv in front of window. This way you have view of tv, enjoying fireplace focal and able to converse with dining room area. My suggestion would be 1 full size sofa and 2 chairs if you can find comfortable small scaled chairs. I was in store this weekend and they had a room set up with 2 chairs side by side almost like a "loveseat" if you will, but it looked good. I wanted to take a picture to save as a inspiration idea/pic but there was a lady sitting in one of the chairs. OR if you left your furniture as is, replacing the love seat with 2 chairs, you could always turn the chairs when you have company to visit with dinning area. Or 1 sofa facing window wall, one chair where your loveseat is now and chair opposite that chair with tv on window wall. I hope I wasn't too confusing or all over the place. I deal with a tight living room area and some furniture was so deep it was practically halfway into the room. How deep are you couches? they look like a good size for your space so you can sorta use them as a guide when replacing....See MoreNeed help or advice on decorating/filling empty space in the bathroom
Comments (12)Oh. Like magic. :o) For sanitary reasons, I’m not sure what you could put there. How about a couple of floating shelves on the wall up above? If you don’t need the storage/display space, I still think just an art print would do it. It is a bit of an awkward spot but its location right next to the toilet kind of gives it an ick factor. Sorry I’m not more help....See MoreNeed advice on filling in sunken living room
Comments (3)Is your home on a slab? Definitely talk to neighbors contractors. It might be possible to do a raised wood platform. Lots of little details like vapor barriers to consider with any approach. I don’t think leaving the engineered flooring would be advisable. Comments (3)I would use the den as TV area with TV between the built-in bookcases. Then do a back-to-back arrangement with two sofas (they don't have to match) and a rolling sofa table between them. The one in the den would be the guest bed. When you have guests, simply roll the sofa table under a window and close the sliding door. As an office, place a desk facing the window if you need good light for online conferences, or put it on the wall if you don't do that. A rolling desk chair can move out of the way for the sofa to be opened. In the living room side, use a round dining table in the corner right of the fireplace. A coffee table 12-18" from the sofa and perhaps a pair of small scale upholstered armchairs in an "L" with the sofa, their backs to the window. Art, not TV, above the mantel....See Morenotroh80
