Wiring of A/C condensate water sensor

I have an AG-1250E Aquaguard Multipurpose water sensor that I plan to install in my condensate pan so that it shuts down the A/C if water starts to build up in the secondary drain pan. The wiring for the AG-1250E gives me the option of "breaking" the wall thermostat power wire (Red), or "breaking" the compressor control wire (Yellow) to shut down the A/C. https://www.supplyhouse.com/RCT-Technologies-AG-1250E-Multipurpose-Water-Sensor-for-Metal-Plastic-Secondary-Drain-Pans

My Honeywell thermostat controls both my A/C and my heating boiler (two separate units). It seems that using the Yellow compressor control wire to shut off the A/C would be a better choice than the Red power wire, since I believe the Red wire is used for both heat and A/C. Anybody have experience with this setup that could provide other input?

Thanks,

Bruce
