Photos of some of my conifers
Comments (4)Ademink, there's sure lots there to see besides conifers (probably a great garden to wander with morning coffee in hand), but you've certainly got some conifers to envy - I am currently "Van den Akker hunting," so to speak, so am duly impressed. Love the site, love the plants. Thanks for showing. KarinL...See MorePlan of my little conifer garden

Comments (6)Interesting question, David. I don't consider myself a collector, but I do have a few clones on the place. Oddly enough, the conifers that seem to elicit the most interest are, much to my surprise, the deciduous types (i.e. Larix, Pseudolarix, and Metasequoia). I want to yell at them, "hey, that's a Abies koreana 'Silberlocke' you just walked past," but I really don't think they give a hoot. Probably the one garden conifer that draws more interest than any other is Weeping White Spruce, which I think it an absolute gem. On the other hand, the folks typically visiting my place are not exactly horticulturally sophisticated. Lets just put it this way, if I posted a picture of them I doubt any of you would recognize them. ;)...See Moremy new mini conifer garden projectw/lotso'pics
Comments (21)Marshall, I appreciate the heads up. I suppose it was bound to have happened sooner or later. I have posted quite a few pics over the last few years, and new it was a risk that someone might swipe one. I figure though, I can always go in the back yard and take another one that looks bigger and better next Spring, and its funner sharing them. Kmanzfive, the Pinus aristata 'Lemon Frost' was selected by Don Howse from porterhowse I believe. It's growing 2-4" a year for me right now. It's supposed to be frosted yellow in the Summer, but has never really colored up really well for me. It's still a favorite though because it has stayed small and I really like Pinus aristata. Thanks, Dan...See MoreSmith127 (7b GA)
