The Blues Project is still pumping out the blooms. Sherry, notice the bloom that is partially open. That's one this one does regularly on the day before it blooms.

August Cherry is having an off year - short scapes with only a few buds.

Late blooming seedling Chance Encounter x Never Been Kissed - Sherry, does yours have scapes?

Sanford Intermezzo has bloomed a long time this season, and it still has a couple of buds.

Last bloom on seedling (Karelia x Palace Garden Beauty) x This Longing #1 - I noticed one of the scapes had gone to 17 buds, so this one is on the road to registration.

Debra, thanks for mentioning the partially open bud on Blues Project. Chance Encounter x Never Been Kissed has four fans and three scapes. It opened its first flower yesterday. First photo is from today, second from yesterday. it’s cloudy today, yesterday was sunny

Sherry - Are having cool nights there? It's always rounder and more ruffly here in the awful heat. We're going to be 94 or 95 this afternoon. It looks like it has short scapes and very few buds for you in its first season. And, on the topic, of buds that open days before they bloom, are you liking Martian Moons any better now?

10 year old kissing, what do i do??

I have a 10 year old boy and I have hear some of the same things you are talking about. I don't remember even being interested in boys at 10, but since I turned 40 this year, I realize that was back in the dark ages and everything is different now : ) LOL. I was shocked when my son started coming home and talking about so and so are going together and so and so broke up. I tried to joke about it and say "so where are they going together, where are they going?" Yes, I know, that is very uncool. LOL I just try and listen to him when he is talking with his friends in the car or when I ask him what is new at school and his friends. He recently "broke up" with his girlfriend. I asked him what happened and he said that she was too possessive and he wanted to be with his friends. I had to bite my lip from laughing and I just told him that he was right. He has lots of time for girlfriends and now was the time to have fun with his friends. The little girlfriend called our house at least 6 times from the time school was out until we got home at 6:00, leaving a message only once and then continuing to call and handing up when the voice mail picked up. I told my son that it was OK that she call, but that he should tell her that once was enough and not to call until after 7:00 when we were home and finished with dinner. She didn't listen very well and I was glad when she stopped calling. I was almost ready to call her parents. I think you are right in talking with her about what is going on and encourage her to stand up for what she wants and doesn't want even though other kids may be doing it. This is such a hard lesson for kids, but I think it builds strong character which will be so important later on. Kids are growing up so fast these days. We can do everything in our power to slow that down, but I am not sure it is doing much good. I hate to see where this is all leading to. Good luck

High School Class Reunion of a 60 Plus Year Old Lady

Good timing. We just got home from Harry's 61st reunion and those 79-year olds looked pretty darned good. And had a great time! Now I'm looking forward to my 50th next year in Indiana. We always have the best time and don't care that much that the guys have no hair and we don't weigh 105 anymore. We're just glad to see one another.

It has been cooler for the past 3-4 days. We are into the heat again today and for at least the next week. I will post photos of the new blooms. We will be getting a good rain this evening.

Martian Moons has not had a clean bloom yet. I think I’ve had 5 blooms on the only scape, just disappointing. The fan is big and healthy looking. With space at somewhat of a premium here I don’t have room for a poor performer here, it’s leaving. Would you want to try it in your garden?

Sanford Intermezzo has such pretty color. I still like the Karelia seedling and your Chance Encounter seedling has a nice form and color. On a side note to Sherry-I also have Martian Moons-have never seen a clean bloom-don’t think I have ever taken a photo!

Sherry - Thanks for the offer of Martian Moons, but after what Kate said, I doubt it would do any better here.

Kate - Sanford Intermezzo does have beautiful colors. I have it planted in my pink bed and it looks so pretty with the three pinks surrounding it.

Tha Karelia Seedling is really pretty. Freudian Slip and Angels Bow down are both lovely.

Great shot on Freudian Slip. The colors look very pretty with a nice pattern............August Cherry was on my list last winter due to your recommendation, but I ran out of room. I still like it and maybe one day...........Maryl

Debra, Martian Moons may just need the right spot. It just is not unique enough or pretty enough to move it around In my garden. It might be great in your garden!
