@eld6161 & @Annie Deighnaugh Yes, it really is. We’re really blessed. The aneurysm was an incidental finding when looking for something else. Otherwise, we might never have known until it ruptured.

Maybe we should all share something “rainbow”the day after we are finished.

So not necessarily a rainbow.

sealavender, no apology needed...one is free to post with or without following the theme of the day. It's all good.

I'm always fascinated by iridescent clouds.

Sealavender - I don't think I've ever seen one of those - and thanks Raven for giving it a name.

Raven, that is not technically a sun dog...that's when the sky looks like multiple suns...

Hum according to Google the pictures with a rainbow in the clouds is labeled Sundog

. The only reason I knew was our weather man recently showed on on the news.

When I looked into it awhile ago, the best I could find was that it's an iridescent cloud, but not a sun dog. Sun dogs are something else.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sun_dog

A sun dog (or sundog) or mock sun, formally called a parhelion[1] (plural parhelia) in meteorology, is an atmospheric optical phenomenon that consists of a bright spot to one or both sides of the Sun. Two sun dogs often flank the Sun within a 22° halo.

Sealavender, I have a picture of something similar to yours. I was at the farm one day, with one of the guys who works there. I looked up in the sky and saw the "rainbow" but it was different. I asked our local weatherman and he told me, if I remember correctly, that it was a circumzenithal arc - it has red on the lower and violet on the upper part of the arc.

Very cool phenomenon.

I always thought the small rainbows in clouds were called ”ice dogs”
