is this frost damage? or something else
Comments (5)Looks like it might be a leaf roller. Dig around in some of those tips and see if you can find a little worm eating the leaves and plastering them together with webbing. You can squash them or spray sevin or malathion....See MoreExtreme Heat or something else?
Comments (5)Sorry, don't know, but keep on trying! This is my first year of container gardening, too. I have about 20 pots in my yard. Right before the 100+ temperatures hit, I got up a 50% white shadecloth. It really works well! The plants that are shaded all day do very well, the ones that are in front are yellowing and suffering a bit. I think the sun weakens plants and lets the buggies really go to town. I just caught 4 tomato hornworms that ate 80% of my tomato plants :(. And my sunflowers are infested with some weird brown patches that are making the leaves limp....See MoreThrips? Heat? Comments (10)Some of the sprays cannot be used once temperatures hit around 90 degrees, Cori-Ann. I do not have a lot of experience with spraying, as the only thing I have sprayed, with no real regularity is an insecticidal soap, and I sometimes use neem during the Winter. Use during certain temperatures for at least one of the products was cautioned and I think that holds true for other products too....just thinking about info. I have encountered regarding sprays over the year. The result will be fried petals/blooms Also, Love Song looks like thrip damage... which culprit.. I haven't a clue. I get thrip damage when it becomes Summer hot (now), but I do not know which one. There is a post regarding identifying Western, vs. Chili... etc. I will see if I can find it or maybe someone with a lot of thrip experience/knowledge will chime in....See MoreWinter damage or something else?
