Came across this site when looking for a Graphite gray refrigerator. I have the DW from Adora and love the color and it shows no prints/drips. Unfortunately I am finding that GE Adora is the only manufacturer who makes appliances in this color, AND they only make two S by S fridges, one DW, and one stove choice available in graphite gray. I am hoping I didn't make a mistake buying the DW in a color that may not take off and will leave me little or no choice in design if I wish to match DW. I would love a bottom mount frige rather than S by S, and have no interest in French doors. Any suggestions? Or am I stuck with SS or black?

Thanks for your responses. @brickeyee....to be honest, I prefer the look of several natural stones over stainless, and this price situation may send me back to stone if I can find one I feel good about. Granite isn't for me, personally. And I have a galley kitchen in a small craftsman bungalow-esque house built in the 20s. I just don't think it will provide the look I want. Oiled soapstone is too dark in such a small space, and I don't really like the grey-ness of unoiled soapstone, either. Or the fact that it can chip. I'm not trying to create a kitchen that is entirely historically accurate, but soapstone would certainly be more appropriate than granite, marble or stainless. I personally think of mixing appliances like I think of mixing jewelry. Given the right setting, it could work, but usually... usually... to get a cohesive look, you don't wear a gold necklace, one silver earring, one copper earring and a rainbow bracelet together. You find the things that match and can pull together a whole look. Usually.... usually.... mismatched appliances... to ME.... look like someone is in the middle of a reno, or like me... had to buy a new fridge and DW (stainless), but hasn't gotten around to or hasn't the money to purchase a new microwave or stove. In the big picture, kitchens don't have to be magazine perfect. But usually.... if someone does a reno, there is a plan for everything to flow together. If function is as important as looks, and for many, it is more important, then by all means, get what works or is affordable when you can get it. But most on this forum or most who redo a kitchen, it is based at least partially on getting a new look. And like jewelry or outfits or whatever, one usually... usually... tries to coordinate. And none of the above is a slam. Just an observation. As for "tacky", I do use that word a lot, and I am WAY past high school. I've seen tacky. It does exist. I haven't seen it on this forum, though. But if I do, I probably won't say anything ;)

Thanks starcraft. Quite some time ago, I bookmarked your 31 kitchen design rules. Your website is really helpful! A Kohler cast-iron sink was my first choice. I happened to see a used Kohler sink for sale at a great price, it had classic scuff marks as though from a pan. I bought it figuring that elbow grease and and the kohler recommended cleaner and bon ami would do the trick. While it looked better overall, no marks came out. I then tried every cleaner I had, nothing removed them...I finally gave the sink to habitat for humanity....I was really surprised that I couldn't get the marks out....which is why I am looking for a sink now and considering stainless steel. Do you know if Kohler had a couple years of really bad finishes? (Government regulations can really mess up a manufacturer in the short term) How do you wax a sink - by hand or with a machine using different types of buffing pads?
