The whites are funny, in that they are always whiter than you think from the chip. If you want a brighter white look, go with the White Dove. Some beautiful bright white kitchens to check out are rmkitchen, redroze (BM Chantilly Lace as paint). If you are looking for a softer look, take a look at these kitchens: SW Creamy (sprice5105 just posted today) or BM Linen White (dlspellman just posted), SW Almond white (Jen4268 kitchen), BM Lancaster Whitewash (mamadadapaige has her cabinets this color). @Priya You just have to test. Acadia looks great in my Hawaii house and terrible in my Idaho house because Northern light is more yellow than at the equator. (I had to switch to Simply White in Idaho, which looks like Acadia in Hawaii.) When I needed a "white" for the exterior of my recent house I tested at least 10 colors to come up with the right one. Remember you really don't want a white outside because colors look way lighter outside. A white will be blinding. I ended up using BM Ancient Oak 940 which is is pretty close to the "almond" metal soffits, and on the house it looks white most of the time, at sunset caan look slightly yellow.

My cabinets are being refinished in simply white and where the cabinets end on both sides of the kitchen there are two doors. We are planning on painting the wood door white and the other pocket door is already white. My contractor is telling me to keep the lighter trim and that it’s not necessary to change to simply white. Everything I’ve read on here is the opposite. I don’t want simply white to look dingy next to the brighter white trim and doors. Do I paint all in simply white including the doors? I also have another door sliding in the back of the room. Paint that simply white and all trim too? Wall will be edgecomb grey with Kendal charcoal island. 🤔

If someone put you in a closet, blindfolded, shut the door, asked you to remove the blindfold and said " what color is on the walls in there"? You can not answer. You literally have no idea, as there is no light. The small amount s of wall space in the kitchen won't brighten OR darken the kitchen. Any white you select for the entire house, will appear differently at different times of the day, and in different rooms, and even on different walls. The reason I asked about the rest of the TRIM in the house, and which "white" that was? Putting another next to and abutting can make you see each of those whites differently , just as it does against cabinetry. Custom matching a white to the cabinets, and THEN testing a few more for the remainder of the house, may smooth the kitchen and avoid "clashes" in other parts of the house. Other areas? Often a good idea, is to simply use the trim white color, lower the wall SHEEN to matte and carry on. The result? a seamless look, a still noticeable contrast between wall and trim, due to the sheen. Al whites are are at their best in abundant light. Just as certain colors appear their best in light flooded parts of the globe. The same hot pinks,, cobalt blues you see in the Mediterranean would jar your eyes in the northern light of London. while you are focused on the small areas in the kitchen? Consider the rest as above. The true "brighteners in any home are ceiling and window height/abundance, multiple exposures to the natural light, and in just as many homes? Electricity.
