I tell you, between work/home/church stuff I have like 500 accounts with passwords.. its quite insane.. now they all require unique marks like %^&&*& or something too, it gets worse. It is what it is i guess.. Im most terrible about writing these things down, thinking, no way I will forget, I think my IT department at work hates me =). Silverkelt

that kind of granite is bullet proof and does not need to be sealed. when you are done cleaning the junk off, buff with a $1 car buffing microfiber cloth. the only thing you should be cleaning with is water and a buffing cloth. If meat juice gets on it, just soap and water, then wash down the soap and used a buffing cloth.

Here is our house layout with all of the "easy" to remove walls gone. And here it is with all of the walls gone (chimney is gone as well, but we really can not move that). We can also move the side door a few feet, it has to move anyways because it is about 6" lower that the other floors in the house. The office area is also lower than the rest of the house - and has hard wood floors. Actually, the whole house has hard wood floors, with the dining room/hall being white oak, the kitchen/living room red oak (and perpendicular to the dining room) and the office has white oak, which are again 3" lower than the rest of the house. We can not justify reflooring the entire house, nor is it really an option to remove the flooring then put it back down. There are so many nails it's just too much to do any more than a small patch that way. The pink walls are load bearing. We're ok with removing one of them, but don't really want to remove both. We are also trying to put together a plan that can be done in stages. Thanks for your input! Oh, and here is the whole house as is.

I would say that they are not scale. Scale should come off easily, without leaving the 'dent'/wound/cratch on the leaves. I had scale, on succulents (they seem to like kalanchoe), on ficus benjamina, on a bay leaf plant... They were never difficult to take off, dead or alive. They can be wiped off with moistened cotton ball or tissue/paper towel or q-tip. Some of the marks look like oedema - but you say your plants don't get wet. Oedema happens when plant takes in more water than it can transpire. It starts as small bumps that get darker (not necessarily bigger). Well draining mix, drainage hole in container and not overwatering should help. Some marks look like mechanical damage - could be 'pokes' from plants next to it, from some debris flying (like broken branch), from pests nibbling, from plant falling and hitting something harder, and so on. I would consider also powdery mildew. It leaves scabs on the leaves. It is caused by fungus (I don't think it will kill the plant). IIRC, it gets worse in humid climate. There could be other fungal attacks (like anthracnose or some others - I am not sure how common or rare they are with succulents). Increasing air circulation around plants would be helpful (doesn't get rid of fungal disease, but it is helpful especially in high humidity). Edit to add: oedema - same as edema....
