Found Clorox sanitizing wipes!

At Dollar General today. I have not seen them since March? I bought two, there were six left on the shelf. I asked the cashier if there was a limit and she said not, I guess I should have bought a third but didn't want to be greedy. In hind sight, I may not see sanitizing wipes again for a long time if the virus rebounds.

Sam's Club carries the Clorox disinfecting wipes, but they've been out of stock f-o-r-e-v-e-r. A few days ago, late in the afternoon, I thought "what the heck" and went online to see if they had any. Imagine my surprise to see that they did! I clicked to add them to my cart (it's a bundle of 5 packs, with 85 wipes per pack) and then quickly hit the button to check out. There have been times when I've gotten that far, but when I go to check out, it will suddenly say that, sorry, they're out of stock. But, this time I was shocked that the order went through! You no doubt paid less than I did, since you got them at Dollar General, but I was so happy that they were available I didn't care! It was $14.48 for the 5-pack, $1.16 for tax, and no extra charge for shipping.

consider cutting them in half.... that fits right in a peanut butter jar. :) and if you ever need more... use two. :)

These kinds of experiments fascinate me, so I wanted to see what kinds of results I could get using the Lotus and traditional bleach water. I borrowed one our housekeeping department's ATP readers at work to do a non-scientific test of my own. ATP readers measure Adenosine Triphosphate - a molecule found in animal, plant, bacterial, yeast and mold cells. They're a pretty cool tool to check for cleaning but expensive as heck. Anyway, I marked off sections on a conference room table that had been used pretty extensively for the past two days. There were bits of food, fingerprints, smudges, etc. on it. I took a reading on both sections of the table that I had marked off. One side measured 6,322 and the other 6,486. I covered up one side and sprayed the Lotus water on the area and let it sit for 10 minutes (dwell time for most disinfectants). The other side I sprayed with a solution of household Clorox and a squirt of dishwashing liquid. After 10 minutes on both sections, I took a fresh towel to each side and wiped them clean and dry. Taking another reading, the Lotus side measured a 3 and the bleach side measured a 2. So, pretty similar results. I have been using the Lotus primarily for cleaning, not disinfecting so I was curious what kind of "real world" results I could get. I realize this isn't scientific but I was just curious how the two would do. If I can borrow the ATP meter again, I would love to see how well some of the "disinfecting wipes" do. Since school is starting back up in a few weeks, I'm always anal retentive about wiping down my desk and common areas since there are always a lot of sick students in and out. I usually use Clorox wipes but have always wondered how good of a job they do killing germs. If I can borrow the meter again, I'll conduct a similar experiment and pass the results along. Does anyone know where you can get the petrie dishes that cbgtennis referenced? We don't have a Fry's here in Colo. -- just wondered if anyone else has seen them around. I'd love to pit some of my favorite cleaners against each other and see what's lurking in my house and at work!

I have had 2 Lotus Sanitizing Systems. The first came with a broken display. Part of the area where you see the time and percentage digitally was permanently black. We called customer support and they sent us a return label. We packed the thing up and sent it back and got another one very promptly. We have been using that other one for about 5 month now. However, 2-3 of those months have been very frustrating. The unit will struggle to get through a charging cycle. It sounds like it is starting and stopping many many times during the cycle. 50% of the time it will just turn off with no error codes. I then have to unplug it, plug it back in, and start over hoping that it finished the cycle this time. I have called customer support many times, but I call after hours because I only remember to call after work or on Saturdays and they are closed by then. This last time (today - Saturday) I left a message. Hopefully I remember to call them Monday during business hours if I don't hear back from them. My wife and I love the idea of cleaning with ozone and when it was working properly we loved the product. I need to call Lotus to have them replace this unit. I don't think they will hesitate with doing that since we had such a good experience before with them replacing the first one. My only concern about this product is that it seems to not be manufactured very well. I say this because I have had 2 of them and I have had problems with 2 of them. It isn't cheap. I was hoping that it would work without problems. At least they have good customer support to replace the unit WHEN it goes bad.

They both contain variants of the same disinfecting agent, which is not bleach. I don't use these often, only when someone in the house is sick, and use both brands. I'm a little sensitive to scents, so I pick according to which scent in the store seems least bothersome to me. I wish Lysol still made an unscented kitchen spray disinfectant. It was terrific for disinfecting in the kitchen and didn't bother me at all. I haven't seen it in stores the past couple of years. Whichever one you choose, be sure to dispose of in the trash and not the toilet- the material does not break down like paper. Barbara

I've had an nacrylic air jet tub since 2005. I never used the Clorox wands. I've always liked "Scrubbing Bubbles" products. After I shower, while the tub is still wet, I'll spray on Scrubbing Bubbles (they make a 4-day Extend-A-Clean version), let it sit a few minutes, then wipe with a wet washcloth(the one from my shower). Just takes a little elbow grease. Good luck!

I found some at Five Below this week. I have recently seen them behind the counter at the service desk at Neighborhood Walmart along with Purell. Numbers are surging here in FL.

After checking every time I went to town and having no luck, about six weeks ago the dollar store had three containers of wipes (can't recall which brand). I grabbed one and left the other two for shoppers who came after me.

Right, Georgysmom! I found some at Target a couple of weeks ago and then again the other day at Publix so I bought one more, My prediction is they will become in short supply again before school starts and teachers start buying them for the classroom. Better stock up now before there is a run on them again. I never used them all that much before now.

I found some on Amazon about a week ago. They still haven't shipped so I hope the order doesn't get canceled. They are nowhere to be found here.

I haven't noticed if they are back in the stores. I only clean with soap and water. If working with raw meat or if someone is visibly sick in the house with like a stomach virus I use bleach water for clean up.

I've been looking for them on grocery shopping trips -- no luck. But I'm not in a hurry. I haven't ventured to other stores to search because we're still self-limiting our outings.
