Sink Tip Out Trays... Yes or No?
Comments (13)I have the same as rmlanza, and treat mine as she does. In one side, I keep my eyeglass-cleaning supplies. I open that side every morning when I clean my glasses. The other side will get more use when the hummingbirds return, because I keep my bottle brush and the stopper in that side with unused sponges. I scrub my hummingbird feeders with a brush before refilling them with sugar water. When we replaced our kitchen cab doors/drawers, we also replaced cab doors/drawers in our home's two original bathrooms. Tip-outs were added there, too. Those bathrooms belong to our college-age kids, but they use their tip-outs for toothpaste and such when they're home. I find the tip-outs to be quite handy. Oft-used items are easily stored near a sink without having to bend over to retrieve those items out from under the sink cabinet....See MoreSoft close on corner cabinets
Comments (10)Thanks everyone. My cabinets are custom, and from what I've learned I am pretty sure they lied/misled about their experience. They've supposedly been in business 5 years and claim to have done high end kitchens, but somehow I am the first person ever to want anything besides a white melamine interior and soft close on my corner door. There have also been lots of other little issues along the way. The one thing they did a great job on was the countertop, as they are also a counter fabricator. If I had to guess, I'm thinking that they started as a countertop company and then decided to get into cabinets just recently, but weren't up front about that fact. I know they have had a lot of commercial jobs too, so I wouldn't be surprised to discover their kitchen experience was limited. It would explain why they had no complaints against them, since they do great counters, but who knows... Anyway, I didn't notice it before, but I see now that the hinges on each of the doors don't match, so I'm pretty sure she tried to go budget and only put one soft-close hinge on each door. I know someone else on here had a similar issue with Blum hinges and when they called Blum were told their installer needed to have both hinges be soft close as it wouldn't work with one. Hopefully that's all it is on mine and I can finally be done with this company. Luckily everything looks great. I'm sure things could have been a lot worse...See MoreSoft Close to replace existing Trash Pull-out?
Comments (1)I have nothing to add but thanks for the chuckle. Although my soft close doors don't always close with a bump of my hip. Sometimes they do and sometimes they don't. I wish I had an answer for you but I don't....See MoreQuick (And Possibly Obvious :) ) Question on Sink Tilt-Outs
Comments (7)FWIW mine has a pull. BTW take a look at what they're going to put inside it. Make sure they use the widest and deepest tray that will fit inside. I have a 36" sink base, and it has two dinky little 11" trays that just barely hold a spatula and a sponge. A 22" or even 25" tray would have been so much more useful, and they are available. Also mine is 3" deep, but a 4" one would fit and again would hold much more. LauraG Here is a link that might be useful: sink tilt out options...See Moredarbuka
