tip-out tray in bathroom?
Comments (8)If your toothbrush is out in the open, technically, like everything else it is exposed to bacterial aerosol when someone flushes the toilet. Since the toothbrush is wet and already has bacteria on it, it may retain more than a dry surface. However, since I haven't read of any deaths from people brushing their teeth, its probably not really a big deal, just someone's research. (Actually people with severe gingivitis or periodontal disease create a bacteremia whenever they brush, so they could potentially die from forcing their own bacteria into their bloodstream if they had certain existing conditions and a screwed up immune system) Oh well, way OT. I think the tray could be great with the papertowel for blotting....See MoreTip out tray in front of kitchen sink rules
Comments (8)I love mine. They have the keyhole cutouts like brickeyee said so we can clean them. I really just use mine for plastic scrapers (washing dishes) and the other one is for a little sponge and cleaning solution for my range (they would get lost under the sink with the big stuff). I've had them for six years, and they have never been gross. I put the scrapers back dripping wet since the trays are plastic, and they've never had a problem drying out. I love them, and if they weren't there it would seem like a waste of space....See MoreHinge for Tip Out Tray drawer
Comments (6)Wow! I installed tip-outs in my MBR sinks after installation. I guess it wasn't difficult and I didn't need all those tools because I'm small. Ok, it was a PIA, but once I quit following the RAS directions, things went a lot more smoothly. My most difficult aspect is that the springs are SO tight, they kept snapping back as I was trying to put the screws in. Had to stick another screwdriver into the mechanism, so it would. Made marks in the screwdriver, the springs are so tight. So tight, that if I bump it closed by accident, I have to locate my toothbrush and paste in the drawers below, and sometimes all the way at the back of the cabinet, behind the drawers. Swearing the whole time. My point is, perhaps you might want to contact RAS and tell them your springs aren't springy and they're not holding. They're a good company and might replace them....See MoreTip-out tray under sink--dirty?
Comments (8)I bought SS holders that have 2 suction cups to attach them to the side of the sink at Target. I only keep a scrubby in mine b/c I use dishcloths instead of sponges. The scrubby in the cleanup sink is for dishes, the one in the prep sink is for lightly cleaning veggies like potatoes & carrots. Here's a pic of the prep sink w/a green scrubby: The scrubby dries quickly in this setup b/c it's in the open & exposed to clean, dry air. IMHO, there's less likely to be an explosion of bacteria growth b/c of this. (I still sanitize it though, just to be safe!)...See Moretalley_sue_nyc
