I'm seriously thinking of going gray.....
Comments (32)Thanks Kath, that pic was taken last summer in front of the one room country school house we used to attend in the early '60's. It has been moved to a historic site along with other country school houses. When we went inside it looked so small compared to how I remembered. We also went back to the farm where we were raised and were able to go inside the house (a neighbor's son bought it and let us go inside, no one is living there now) I wish I hadn't gone inside, it was a mess and again seemed so small..........and I'd been there (when the folks were still living in it) and I was an adult in the '80's. Sorry got off track there. We do have a lot of fun together and try to do special things together over the summer when I'm "home". Diane...See MoreI've always hated grey, so why am I considering it?
Comments (25)Susanilz5, I could have written your original post! That's exactly how I have been feeling! 10 years ago, I would not even use taupe inside my house because it looked gray! Every light tile I brought home I didn't like because there always seemed to be a gray undertone. I didn't use white fixtures in my bathroom because I thought they looked gray instead of white! I picked out some paint chips today in the gray family, showed them to my sister and she got a funny look on her face and said, "They're too gray! That's not you!" I told her "Gray is the new beige." I actually put a post on the kitchen forum about using a gray/blue/green with my oak cabinets and only got one response--SW's anew gray (which I haven't checked out yet). However, my dilemma would be transitioning from a gray room into my other warm colored rooms and how to make that work. I'm not sure I'm capable, but I think I could get by using it in a bathroom or bedroom because they are destination rooms and not rooms connected to multiple rooms like a kitchen or family room might be. Good luck! I'll be anxious to see your results....See MoreSeriously debating......can I go from my lovely baby
Comments (11)Well, Stacy..... My current dream car is a Mustang convertable. I drive a Ford Expedition. Years ago, I told DH that he couldn't ever buy me a car that didn't sit me up high so I could see. Until I drove the mustang we rented! But the heavier vehicles are so much safer to drive, being heavier built, so you have a better chance in an accident. I am debating, also, but I also know it's gonna be a few years before I have to make the choice! And most of the time it's just me in it. I still use it to tow with, to, with no other car/truck to do so. Something for you to think about. You live in an area where the deer are much more prevalant than I do. And I see alot of deer! Remember you last encounter? Think about that before deciding to go smaller. But if you do get the small car, enjoy it! Tami...See MoreSeriously...I am going to cry
Comments (9)Thanks ladies :) i knew you would understand. Dotz, we have been trying for awhile now, even before we were married. I temped & charted for a looong time. The Billings Method is an extension of that--it's paying attention to, and charting things like cervial mucus, temps, etc. Unfortunately, my/our issues are my tubes. So even with us perfectly timing intercourse, my right tube is totally out of commission. I CANNOT get pregnant if I ovulate on my right side. I have a better chance on my left side, but there is some minimal scarring there, as well. It's about 75% open according to my RE. So technically--I CAN get pregnant on that side and probably WILL at some point. But considering the fact that a woman only has a 25% chance each cycle, even with well-time intercourse, AND considering the fact that I can only get pregnant roughly 50% of the time when I ovulate (since it has to be from my left ovary)---the odds are stacked against us. Not to say it can't and WON'T happen naturally...but it could take years. :( It is very disheartening, especially since my DD was a snap, oops pregnancy! :) One thing that just floors me is when people say "oh, give it time, you are so YOUNG." Well---I get what they are saying but it annoys me nonetheless. First of all, I am not THAT young. I'm 28. Secondly, my DD will be 7 in a few weeks and SS is already 7. If I got pregnant TODAY, they would be almost 8 by the time the baby is born. With every month that passes by, the age gap gets wider and wider. I never wanted to raise my children separately. THAT makes me sad. And that's why it annoys me when people, albeit well-meaning ones, say "oh, you're so young...why rush?" SIGH....See MoreIdaClaire
