Really windy today!

Citrix, 2 nice blooms, one faded out, and one did not open at all!

1st bloom of Clown Parade, not its usual bright color, but got a few more buds coming

New one, Coach's Magic Man

1st bloom this year on Discarded Beauty.

Heavens Proclaim started with 4 blooms

Well, I posted a bunch more pictures in the comments and they are gone. So I may have duplicates again

Kierabel was new this spring, starting out good

Jamaican Love is new, thanks Debra! This bloom is fullsize and looks just like I wanted. Still a short scape, but new plants do that for me

1. Debra, Rainbow Dragon bloomed, a tiny prolif size fan, so I am not surprised the short scape could not hold up the bloom. I do like the bloom, so I have something to look forward to. I do see what you say about the color
Parrots of the Carribbean is one I got just before Maryott sold out. It has stayed at the 3 fans I started with, but it does always bloom nicely.

Screen Pattern

Time Lord started off with 4 blooms. I was going to get rid of this one, but last year it showed off nicely, and seems to be looking pretty good this year

Waiting for peace. I have had this several years. the 1st 4 years it remained a single fan, finally got a 2nd one. Now 3 years later it has 4 this spring, but of course only the 2 mature ones bloomed. I really like the form on this one, lots of substance

So many nice ones on both the initial post and the comment post. Abby Davisson looks better for you than other photos I've seen - more narrow. My Back Scratcher was a bit splotchy this morning too. I love Coach's Magic Man and Heaven's Proclaim. I kept three fans of Jamaican Love, and mine was showing a bit of a pattern this morning. Yours looks pretty good. I'm glad you are happier with this bloom. I'm glad you like the Rainbow Dragon bloom. I crossed it with some clear lavenders, and then was ready to move it on. I think most of the seedlings died because of fungus gnats. Parrots of the Carribbean and Screen Pattern look grand. Great post with a lot of eye candy!

Gean, H F Young should work well with MAC. Good luck with MAC going up the tree. I have one that I've been trying to get up a tree for two years and it just want's to be a shrub. Ingrid I think I must have the ideal soil and growing conditions for these roses. Honest, I don't do anything special. There is a down side. They grow so fast that the growth isn't very strong and if we get a heavy rain they droop badly or fall over. Really aggravating sometimes. Thank you Pam. I have a Red Radiance that's trying to produce even another sport. I have my fingers crossed. Thank you BC. Suze, I do spray some but not the teas. I eat the catfish.

That's enough to convince me I never want to see snow when there are still leaves on the trees. And what a wet miserable mess it must have been when melting and no power to your house :( I do understand your appreciation for everyone trying to help, working towards getting things back to normal - it kind of sheds a different light on what's important and whats important is people, an event like yours can really change priorities. I don't know what to say about your trees, it will probably be Spring before you know the extent of lasting damage there. The good news is, I suspect your perennial things, things lower, are going to surprise you and most will recover where you'd think crushed - those will be greeting you at the end of winter. I hope the next 4-5 months go really, really smoothly for you and you have quiet, uneventful, normal weather from here on out till Spring - I think you've paid your dues this year already :)

Thanks all for the comments. Nancy: I didn't know they had a Blue Flax so I googled it and will order some seeds this winter. Would love to get a clump of those going around the garden. Seems like most perennials are either red, purple/lavender or yellow. I like having blue tones and some orange too. I love the foliage on the flax as it seems to be feathery. I've had hyssop for 2 years. Seems always to come back even when I gave it a haircut in July. FANCY FACE is not one that I find to have alot of buds (alot for me is over 15 per scape) BUT I love the bloom and it will always have a place here. Yes Casey, it reminds me too of a pansy. Julia

Were the first photos taken when the plant was blooming when purchased and not a bareroot (ie fans/scapes cut)? It's still a a very nice daylily. Your pic of Happy Returns is showing near white on my monitor with a light yellow throat. I know HR is a much brighter yellow. Mine just started blooming for the first time today. Julia

Another nice group, Nancy! I got Kierabel last year and it surprised me by how well it bloomed. It has continued to perform well. Nice clumps in Heavens Proclaim and Billy the Kid. Clown Parade looks good but not as good as the garden babies behind it! Coach’s Magic Man is really pretty!!
