It’s literally a white square room with a standard height ceiling and a window... just super generic bedroom but since we don’t have children it’s going to be his office/man cave. I’d take a picture but the light is terrible rtnw

This is what the room looked like when we bought our home (minus all the furniture obv) it’s just empty now and completely blank white walls.

Im inclined to do dark wood slated blinds with long curtains, a large richly colored rug, dark forest green walls with mahogany floating book shelves and framed art in rustic gold, bronze and wood frames. An interesting chair that is both extremely comfortable and visually interesting, perhaps something leather and old- fashioned with an ottoman. a side table for resting a whiskey and a book, not sure maybe wood? Just not sure about if all walls should be painted the same.... or maybe a textured wallpaper on one wall?

A textured wall would be lovely. I would paint all the walls the same color.

A dark, leather wall would make it look very rich. Just brainstorming some ideas.

Paint them all, one could be with leather. You might want to consider white moulding.

The white moulding does seem to lift the ceiling, I was inclined to do dark wood moulding to lean in to the “whiskey club” feel and maybe paint the ceilings a warm beige but perhaps white would keep it from feeling too confined.

I think your ceiling might need some treatment. To give it that snug and warm feeling you want, you might want to consider dark coffered ceiling tiles. Don't worry about it feeling confined once you get everything placed in the room. They will also help to minimize sound in the room.

We used BM Tarrytown green for the built in bookcases. It has a rich depth of color. It is in theIr Historic Colors collection.

I feel like I wrote this post! Ha! We just did the same thing in my husbands office. He does have high ceilings but walls were bland and he wanted moody green. We used SW 6475
Country Squire and are so happy with it. We did the trim in a bright white and all frames on the wall black to match the desk/chair. Got a light rug from rugs USA. I will post some pictures if it helps you to visualize your room. (We haven’t done anything on the windows yet).
